Saint_clark Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that both Chamberlain and Lallana will still be with us when we get into the Prem.
The9 Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that both Chamberlain and Lallana will still be with us when we get into the Prem. That should see this thread into Golden Posts. I honestly can't see Ox-Cham playing for us next season even if we go up. There were a lot of rumours implying he'd already agreed to sign for Arsenal in the summer, and I'm going with those. Even if not, he should get a move while he can, cos as he's predominantly a speed merchant one serious injury will do nothing for his career earning prospects.
trousers Posted 22 March, 2011 Author Posted 22 March, 2011 I'll go with whatever Cortese says will happen in his next BBC interview
Window Cleaner Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Unless it's a done deal already I'm not sure that he'll even go to Arsenal this close season.Unless they win the EPL (which isn't very likely) Arse are going to have to change their recruitment policy and buy players for now and not 10 years hence. They've got a massive group of players (40 or 50) but can't find a striker or a central defender for love nor money on many occasions.Sooner or later being a glorified football academy will have to stop.
skintsaint Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 Southampton are demanding a 40% sell-on clause as part of the proposed deal to take winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Arsenal. (News of the World) NotW...so probably a complete load of tosh.

I was thinking the same thing. The fans are going to demand senior pros, big name players and some real grit to add to their vast array of flair players. Mind you Wenger doesn't strike me as a guy that is going to deviate far from his policy if developing talent. I'd of though Cahill will come in to the back four and that might appease those calling for a ball winning leader. If he added a bit of height at left back and up front he might concede a few less and attacking wise he is spoilt for riches. That said Chamberlain is just their sort of player.
