St.Patrik Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 According to Swedish press Michael Svensson are fit enough to try and make another comeback for Halmstad BK. http://www.svenskafans.com/fotboll/Silly-379373.aspx Why don´t he give it a rest so we all can remember him for how god he was - now he´s just making him self look like a desperate has been. But Good Luck Michael - signing of the year for Halmstad if he can stay fit.

It leads to problems of varying degrees from minor depression to real suicidal tendancies...and worse. They always think that they can go there one more time, for another race, another season, another year, when they realise that they can't it usually aggravates the syndrome. I kind of know this from very close to home as I have a girl who was a really top class athlete until a couple of years back when she picked up a bad injury, she's young enough to come back from it one day but in the meantime there are many dark days and she goes to counselling with other sports people at the end of their careers.
LGTL Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 I'm now wracking my brains to think who your daughter is! Good luck to her anyway. As for Killer, what a hero.
Whitey Grandad Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 At his age he's at the end of a footballing career, even without the injuries.

scott_saints Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Maybe he just enjoys playing footy. Shhh. I prefer the "he's gonna kill himself" theories.

Professor Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 I've no idea what standard of football is played by Halmstad BK but if Michael can make their grade, good luck to him. It was tragic that such a brilliant player should have had his career cut short by injury. But it was also sad to see him in the twilight of his comeback attempts, too slow to compete, not able to turn quickly and overall a very pale reflection of what he had been. Even so, all who saw him at his peak would say he was one of Saint's all-time greats and nothing will ever take that away from him.
Deppo Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 He is a footballer. Let the man play football if he so desires.
Colinjb Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 He is a footballer. Let the man play football if he so desires. This. Let him be.

Matthew Le Tissier Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Having to give-up football almost cost Claus his life so I think that shows what a big deal it is, I'm sure it was or would be a bog deal to all us who play on weekends etc. When it's someones work and life day in day out it must be awfull! Even more so if you didn't make the choice to give up. Keep hoping son that's what I think , don't give up!
