Saints foreva Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 Very poor bench, shows that we did not do enough in January.
Matthew Le God Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 since we have virtually no reserve or development squad games of late he's not been playing anywhere. They can't have played for at least 3 or 4 weeks. That doesn't mean he isn't now a midfielder. He has also been training with the first team for a long time now.
Jonnyboy Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 Did anyone notice on South Today last night they said the last time we won at Colchester in 1959, before I was even born (just) Wasnt that just in the league though? Anyway, Id love Gobern to show us what he's made of today
Matthew Le God Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 Very poor bench, shows that we did not do enough in January. No it doesn't. You can still shuffle the team round to have lots of striking options. If Saints signed more players in January the squad would be massively bloated and no player would have signed as they wouldn't think they would get games.
Saint_clark Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 bench looks soooooo poor! god help us. What do we really know about N'Guessan, Gobern and Reeves? Gobern as always looked at least solid when i've seen him, and Reeves has been raved about for quite some time now.
DG Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 Not confident about this one at all (so we'll probably win 4-0).
ericofarabia Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 Reeves is now a midfielder. Butterfield and Dickson have both been midfielders in numerous games in their careers. As for striking options, Lallana, Chamberlain and N'Guessan can all play up front. So can Niemi ... maybe we could smuggle him back as emergency keeper cover then let him loose as centre forward !!!!

Enough to know that they are unlikely to be "impact players" in the way Pap and Antonnio were last year.
Jonnyboy Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 Its bad luck really as just as Lallana is back and Lambo gets form, Guly and MS are injured...
Matthew Le God Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 So can Niemi ... maybe we could smuggle him back as emergency keeper cover then let him loose as centre forward !!!! I know you are joking. But Lallana, Chamberlain and N'Guessan are all more than capable of playing upfront in League One if Lambert or Barnard need to come off.
Jonnyboy Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 Its bad luck really as just as Lallana is back and Lambo gets form, Guly and MS are injured... Forte looked like a good impact player too.
dune Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 bench looks soooooo poor! god help us. There's is always poor. We have a far better starting 11 than them so no need to worry. We'll be up for today, we'll know what to expect, and we'll win. Simples.
Matthew Le God Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 Would you prefer this as a bench? 12 Cousins, 03 Beevers, 05 Baldwin, 14 Bond, 17 Perkins, 07 Vincent, 18 Gillespie
