MUST WIN GAME..

I remember when I would get told off for saying that

I agree Jamie, You'd expect all the teams around us to win today, if Bournemouth win and we lose promotion is out of our hands. We cant afford to slip up again this week.

sad isnt it...we probably have to win a tricky away game to stay within a shout it seems..

boooooooooooooooooo

edit...just looked at the table, they are 7th and 4 points behind us.....we really should have won on tuesday to make a draw here look decent enough...we really are up against it

we'd be relying on a team which gets crowds the 1/3 of ours, a budget 1/10th of ours and who have lost their manager and their two main strikers this season to f*ck up for us to stand a chance of promotion. We are 90 minutes away from being made to look total mugs.

yep...from me mr positive this season..it is quickly turning out to be a farking shambles....

Off course, especially with the 'still got 46 points up for grabs' brigade.

Is there really a brigade of people who think we can still get 46 more points this season? I think most would recognise that 45 is about as good as it can get.

Christ, we are all wrist-slitters now it seems. Only a week or so back some of us were slagged for pointing out our inexorable decline in form. How things change and quickly.

Good point, well made.

Well, I have had one muvva of a weird weekend so far. Son pulls dead body out the sea yesterday pm. He goes out with mates to get over it and they end up dragging some Arab bloke attempting to commit suicide off of Sheikh Zayed Road. Then just as I organise myself to type up the weather and dinner report onto here I get a phone call from my Satellitte provider telling me I've won a free Fine Dining dinner tonight with Jun Tanaka & Gary Rhodes in a random draw for longstanding customers....

I wouldn't mind but I had prepared BBQ Seared baby Tuna with Roasted Sweetcorn and a Peach & Chipolte Salsa. I mentioned this during the call and apparently the lads want to come round to mine first.

So I'll love you and leave you alone tonight and will take Window Cleaner's advice to stick to their (no doubt fine) Chardonnay, I'll wrap up warm as it's a windy and a cold 21C and will stay VERY far away from the commentary because there's simply too much weird sh1t around me at the moment and I gotta a horrible feeling about todays game

Anyone got a map to get back to reality FFS?

Some have still got their heads in the sand Adrian. Blindly believing "in Adkins we trust". Wallsall was the day my patience snapped with this lot. How many of this squad can look at themselves and say they have consistantly delivered at the level they are capable of? I cant think of any. Then to hear Adkins just come out and shrug his shoulders and say "it was one of those nights" Make no mistake, today is crucial, if we fail to win and Bournemouth do win, automatic promotion is out of our hands, it will be a disgrace that we are relying on a team with 1/3 of the gates a 1/10th of the budget and lost its manager a two best players this season to f*ck up in order to achieve 2nd, which at the start of the season was the minimum that was considered acceptable by many. Still some keep their head in the sand though, shrug their shoulders "we lost a game it happens" This season we have not been f*cking well good enough, too much talk, too many excuses, its about time some of you lot woke up to it.

Today really must be D Day for Adkns and his cronies.

D for DELIVER or it'll be "sorry to lose you but you really ahve to go" as the old WWI music hall song went!

If we scrape a win he'll get a stay of execution and of course the longer that goes on the less likely it is that Nicola will fire him until all hope of promotion is gone.

I happen to think that he'll get his marching orders anyway in the close season but Nicola is now in that very difficult time for decisions cut-and-run or hope-and-pray part 1 of the dream so near and yet so far away.

Counter to what you may think, I don't dislike Adkins but it is becoming more evident week-by-week that he has only limited ideas on how to get the best from a team; "the next best thing since sliced beard" most certainly he is not.

We need better and this team deserves better before they are too old to be effective anymore.

Absolute crap...

I agree entirely. Have tried to be so positive all season and now I'm resigned to the fact that we really are not good enough.

We are never not good enough before the matches, only during and after them. You have to believe we'll win every game.

I've been doing that all season and a lot of the time we have done, but we've dropped points in places we really shouldn't have, such as Walsall, so I don't have the confidence we can notch enough points to finish 2nd.

Then again if we win today I will probably be mr optimistic because I am a fickle fan.

So you are saying that getting rid of Adkins now would be a 'close shave'?

Are we to assume that Chamberlain is now fully fit or is this a gamble that could back fire badly if he does real damage to his hamstring and is out for 6 weeks ?

It was only supposed to be a minor strain. We shall see what we shall see.

Where is the earliest place to see the team sheets?

Move to the west coast of the USA. Game starts at 7am and team sheets available about 6am. That's pretty early.

here you go, expected team, decipher it yourselves

KD. DB, RJ, JF, DanH. AC, RC, DeanH, AL. LB, RL

Damn ... I really should have paid more attention whilst watching "Enigma' on The Telly box the other day.

So if OXO had a hamstring problem and was unable to start against Warsaw, yet come on as sub,has he made a miraculous recovery or was that a slight ruse to give him a breather?

I sincerely hope we are not taking a gamble.

Team: Davis. Butterfield, Jaidi, Fonte, Harding. Chamberlain, Chaplow, Hammond ©, Lallana. Barnard, Lambert

Oxo in for Spiderman otherwise as per Walsall.

Bench sounds devoid of inspiration.

the bench sounds like serious barrel scraping. No Guly,no Morgan (but then we knew that, might send a mail to his folks later to wish him well) no Forte,no strike options. Our injury pile up is getting beyond a joke.

it doesn't matter, Adkins only uses one sub a game anyway.

Another massive game when you look at the other fixtures. Lose this and we would be totally out the race for 2nd IMO, and will be looking like play-offs at best.

Yep.

I've had enough of bollocky excuses from the manager & players alike. Just get out there and win - that's all we ask.

Most of our rivals are at home today and in all likelihood will win. We must ensure we do the same. There's no such thing as a "well earned point" away at Colchester this stage of the season. Winning is all that matters if we don't want to see 2nd place slip quietly away at 5.p.m. tonight.

Jeez, that bench looks devoid of inspiration.

Was'nt a while back i thought we had a super squad for this league, another pre conception by myself.

Should have made hay in the January transfer window.

Whats happened to connolly and forte? Is forte injured then? If not what was the point in buying him?

Forte is injured......keep reading that Connolly and Seabourne are pressing for a return to the squad. This is obviously bull**** !

Must be a bit of a bind having to wait till the sun is over the yard arm to crack open the beers.... make do with sun rise, or before if you wish!!!

You'd need a Delorean time machine for that.Anyway look what happened to Biff Tannen, ended up in the horsesh*t all the same, as he always does.

Hmm 3 full backs & a CB on the bench.

Pah - loads of options.... You whippersnappers have no idea of what football used to be like in the old days. hell I remember the days when we brought Steve Moran on at CB for Big Dave Watson..

Which is another way of saying oh feck we're doomed, off to light the bbq

I believe Reeves has spent the last year playing in midfield, after starting as a LB.

Not sure if my ford focus will make it up to 88mph.

since we have virtually no reserve or development squad games of late he's not been playing anywhere. They can't have played for

at least 3 or 4 weeks.

Reeves is now a midfielder.

Butterfield and Dickson have both been midfielders in numerous games in their careers.

As for striking options, Lallana, Chamberlain and N'Guessan can all play up front.
