Colchester Build-Up

As if Lloyd James doesn't know the exact position that our squad is in at this very moment.People have friends that they talk to on the telephone and twitter and all that you know. There is nothing that Ward will not know about our squad on Saturday.

Adkins has stated on a number of occasions that this is the reason that he doesn't give out detailed injury and team information. He wouldn't bother if he thought it would leak out anyway. I'd imagine the Saints squad are under strict instruction not to divulge any info and if they are found to have done so they would face disciplinary procedures in house from the club.

Pfffffff, if they think that players don't talk to their friends and relations they are totally deluded. It's very difficult to hide that you're walking around on crutches you know. The club has become obsessional about it of late. Now our friend VMAN told us that

there was bad news coming out of the Oldham game although he didn't want to be specific,we all knew what that meant, but the club well they just waffled and ummed and ahd.The training videos were a dead give away, so was leftback so they stifled all that, the fans now no longer have any idea about injuries and the like but have no doubt about it the opposition do.

You make it clear to staff that if they divulge company information they will face the consequences. It works in other professions, so it should "in theory" work in football.

As if anyone would ever know. You'd be amazed about what can be "known" through very simple and "normal" means.

The club would only ever know that "information" was leaking if someone told them so and no opposition coach or manager is going to tell them are they.Colchester will know all they need to know that's it and all about it,we will know what we want to know as well.

It is in Saints players' interest for them not to give the opposition clues. It wouldn't be hard for Saints management to make this clear to them. Of course footballers aren't always the brightest, but it makes little sense for them to undermine their own team against the clubs wishes.

Why expect anything different to what we had on Tuesday night and up at Hartlepool last week. We are becoming mediocre under this mediocre manager. Nothing's changed since Tuesday, as you can tell from the OS that Adkins is living in Cloud Cuckoo Land with all his wishful thinking. Who do you think you are kidding Mr Adkins, your influence on this team is none! Same old sh*t will be served up and because Colchester are better than Walsall it's a dead cert 2-0 clobbering.

Am thinking of going now only if I can get a space on the Coach as it's cheaper than getting the train which I won't mind getting if I can't get a place on the Coach and does anyone know if there are still tickets and coach spaces left or what :p?!

Thanks!

COYR :D!!

You'll get good odds on that so pile in, cocker.

I'm not sure Benny! I'm getting the train to London first to meet some mates and then I will get the train to Colchester from Liverpool Street and then the shuttle bus to and from the match and then the train back to Liverpool Street and then go for beers in London and maybe come back Saturday night or maybe stay with mates on Saturday night in London! We shall see!

I hope we win though!

Don't make fun of dannysfc! This forum would be a far happier place to be if everyone shared in his optimism and enthusiasm. Nice to have a genuine, likeable character to shine through the storm clouds once in a while!

Difficult game to predict really, I can't decide whether we're going to lose pathetically or win emphatically... OK tell you what - scrappy 2-1 win for the mighty sashes!

If dannysfc is a young lad then this club will knock all of the optimism and enthusiasm out of him in the next few years. So much disappointment to come....

Try doing if for 41 years (don't even worry about players, coaching staff, manager, owners or the league we're in it's always the frigging same).

I see a 2-1 defeat with Saints trailing 2-0 for some time - getting one back and then being that bit just unable to score the second to leave you tearing your hair out.

Probably draw 1-1 with Yeovil Town the next game after battering them for eighty minutes or so.

We're all doomed.

Just the match we didn't need after the Walsall nightmare.

Away to a team we struggle to beat regularly, unknown injuries & knocks to MS & AOC at least. Chaplow off the boil, Barnard unable to hit a barndoor.

It's just sssssssssooooooooooooooooooooo depressing.

And the even worse news is that the forum is likely to stay stable this weekend so it will work when things go really wrong in the match and we'll have pages of .....

Arrrrrrggggggh what a bad weekend to give up glue sniffing

Lol I refuse point blank EVER to go there again unless it is free & in Hospitality. Went to the last World Cup Race at the "old" course - had a hot date, we were dressed up in our bestest fake Armani's with vouchers for the Bubble Lounge that we'd won, and spent SIX hours queuing in a rugby scrum in 32C to get in. They had one airport style scanner for 15,000 people, cheapskate ****s.

Right, I'm going to stick my neck on the line here and predict we'll win 2-1.

We'll go 2-0 up, concede half way through the second period and be forced to hang on at the end.

However, we'll just about hold on to claim what will prove to be a crucial three points.

It won't be pretty, it certainly won't be enjoyable, but I've got a sneaky feeling we'll win.

I think Hammond is the key to success. FF was quite correct when he analysed our weaknesses and the lack of direction and organisation. Our defeat at Walsall seemed to follow a similar pattern to last Saturday's game. We start well, pepper the goalmouth without too much accuracy and fade. Adkins's subs including Morgan gave the team renewed energy and shape, and the goals followed. Unfortunately we don't have Schneiderlin now, so a lot rests with the inconsistent Hammond driving the team as a captain should.

The bottom line is that the team needs sharper shooting practice.

I thought Tuesday was a sh1t day. I thought I had a reason to be down and depressed all week. Then context & life decided to intervene and bite me in the bum.

Son walks in and says "I've just had a really sh1t day today.....

I just pulled a Dead guy out of the sea"

Condolences to the guy (who appears to have been a 50+ overweight Brit holidaymaker who had a heart attack in heavy seas after getting into trouble)

You know what, football isn't so important anymore

Football not more important than a fat, dead, beer swilling, pork scratching scoffing tourist in Dubai...you're having a laugh Phil surely, either that or an early start on the Bullfrogs and Chardonnay, people die,it's a fact but there will always be football.I'm serious there by the way, people should live correctly and not do stupid things that's the end of it.

No football is more important. Bill Shankly was right. Worrying about it and letting it get to me this week has been put into context. And yes we did sit down with a beer. Many on here will be as shocked as I am that for once in my life I was truly lost for words. Finding the right thing to say to a son who's been through that suddenly all the experience on here of finding the right riposte to Alps came to the fore.

Just shook up Dude and yes, good old Blighty & elf & self tea has a lot to answer for, 'cos when Brits go somewhere else they expect the same rules to apply. There wasn't no Hoff and a happy ending, there was a heart attack & my lad & his Dude buddies.

Jeez what a fecked up week

Last season (just after Xmas I think) was one of the most depressing games I saw!!!!!! In the end I was glad the fog came down and spared me watching any more (pity it didn't come down earlier).

So with that in mind, I'm afraid I'm somewhat pessimistic about tomorrow and can't see anything better than a draw (matching the result earlier in the season - was Adkins here for that one??).

Injury worries aren't going to help us, but you never know we might bounce back and kick someone's ar53e. Still in two minds about going (presume you can buy on the day)

I went to their swamp last season and it's going to be the same again this season. Hoofball will be the order of the day from them. However they are not getting the results like they did last year so i'm optimistic that we'll win.

Feel a bit biwildered by Saints at the moment. Haven't seen us play since Man Ure so I'm not sure what's going on. On the one hand i'm non confident at all after Tuesday's result. On the other, it may just be that result will give us a massive kick up the arse and we'll put in a supreme performance.

Remember when we beat Hull 4 - 0 at home in 07/08 putting them 14th. After that they went on an amazing run and finished 3rd getting promoted in the play offs.

That said we'll probably just slump.

Perfect time to go to my first away game of the season.

The problem with today is that this is the game we should have been allowed to lose...

I hate losing but losing to Colchester would be more forgiveable than Wallsall and now we have heaped pressure on ourselves...

We needed 4 points from the 2 games, that will be somewhat difficult to obtain now.

Today really must be D Day for Adkns and his cronies.

D for DELIVER or it'll be "sorry to lose you but you really ahve to go" as the old WWI music hall song went!

If we scrape a win he'll get a stay of execution and of course the longer that goes on the less likely it is that Nicola will fire him until all hope of promotion is gone.

I happen to think that he'll get his marching orders anyway in the close season but Nicola is now in that very difficult time for decisions cut-and-run or hope-and-pray part 1 of the dream so near and yet so far away.

Counter to what you may think, I don't dislike Adkins but it is becoming more evident week-by-week that he has only limited ideas on how to get the best from a team; "the next best thing since sliced beard" most certainly he is not.

We need better and this team deserves better before they are too old to be effective anymore.

You don't half talk some tripe! short memory have we? the club has walked down the road of a manager a month, we need consistency, give the man a few seasons before hanging him ffs.
