EastleighSoulBoy Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 What a f*ckin joke. Play offs at best. Oh and im fed up of seeing this : I get that. But it doesn't cost me £5 a year!
Jonnyboy Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 I don't think I have ever been this angry in the past 10 years. yeah our last two relegation days were a bit of a giggle
warsash saint Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Nights like these were made specially for Alpine.
S-Clarke Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 I think there are a few OTT posts tonight, but it is a really poor result. There's no two ways about that. We needed to win tonight, as has been said - our poor start to the season has left us with pretty much no margin for error in the 2nd half (we have now lost as many games as we lost over the entire of last season). We've now put ourselves in a situation where we need to go to Brighton, Bournemouth and Charlton to win - a draw at some of these grounds would have been ok a few weeks ago - but after our last 2 away results, they now need to be wins. Hey, we might do it - and it'll be epic if we do, but the task is getting harder by the week and I honestly didn't see this season turning out like this.
Dalek2003 Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 We need Glenn Hoddle back in charge NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Baird of the land Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Feel sorry for young Gobern. Came on saturday and look lively. Then midweek when we're huffing and puffing and getting nowhere at nil nil, he's left sitting on the bench. I really thought adkins might have learned his lesson on saturday when he made changes and we scored 2 goals in a minute.
saintrich Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Really unlucky today - tried playing nice football in first half, lambert in particular with some great link up play - some half decent efforts on goal from schneiderlin, barny and lambert. Went more direct in the second half to find success and created even more - denied by some heroic blocks and saves from walsall back 5. Some real drama queens after game saying want a refund on season ticket etc - jeez... Just one if those days. For people asking it was jaidi at fault for the goal - abysmal header back to Davis that put macken clean through.
hypochondriac Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Should have bought CMS. We don't take our chances. If we fail to go up it is a total travesty. If we don't go up this season then I will have wasted hundreds of pounds going to support us this year, and I don't know why I bother. I work hard all week, have a sh*te day today and then I have to listen to that in the dark because my lightbulb has gone and I don't have a spare. So so angry.
MongoNeil Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 was typing a long summary of the game then my phone crashed! Basically we were ****, didn't dominate, no bite in midfield, too much hoof. They made some great saves and goal line cllearances. I'll maybe post more when I get home.

St Marco Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Based on last 8 games we are averaging 1 point a game. I am sure you all agree that isn't promotion form and shows we need to improove a lot. My main concern though is that someone above mentioned Pardews results. In Pardews last 25 games in charge he had more points then Adkins has in his first 25 in charge. It shows we have not progressed. Also if you look at the games we played last year and the teams we beat i wonder how this team would cope with them. Last season we had results against Leeds,Norwich,Millwall. If those 3 teams were in the league this year i doubt we would beat them. The teams this year seem a lot poorer and teams like Swindon,Charlton and Bristol have become much worse. If they were the team of last year again i think things would look different. This isn't to say i think Adkins should go or that i am against him as i support him 100%. But i think with the team we have and against the teams we are up against we have done very average. He should be getting on par with Brighton results. We should be beating teams like Brentford,Walsall,Hartlepool,Peterborough,Tranmere,Notts County, yeovil, Mk Dons. The only really top result we have had under Adkins was at home vs Bournemouth. We all know about what they have been through. If this Adkins team had to come up against those teams of last year i don't think they would do well. Which means i think Adkins points per game is good in comparison to last season, but based on the difficulty of the teams this year is actually not that great. This weekend we have a huge game now against a team doing well in the league looking to get into the playoffs. We have to go there and win.
saint peter Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Oh FFS !!!!! Shockingly bad but somehow unsurprising. Why on earth can we never beat a lower team away on a tuesday night. Makes me wonder if they're really up for the challenge !!!
CWD Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 The most annoying thing is, this has put us under so much pressure. To overtake Bournemouth now we HAVE to win both of our games in hand and then we will most likely NEED to beat them at Dean Court. And we all know how Saints deal with pressure
Saints Warrior Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Not good enough, too many bug away games left and I cant see Saints winning more than 5 away. Saints defence is awful, the mid field so so and upfront miss too many chances when running the game. I can remember a team so far ahead in the betting pre-season except Leeds for title and then not living up to the hype. I dont think we are as good as brighton or Bournemouth, Huddersfield, MKdons. That leave us with a play offs lottery. £17m to create out team but look who are above us??? how does that happen
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 if you're only going to use one word, at least spell it correctly I was underwhelmed when i wrote it! lol
scotty Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Should have bought CMS. We don't take our chances. If we fail to go up it is a total travesty. surrey1saint Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Its the same old story,Saints failed to perform on a s h i t away ground. When will we learn how to play on these type of grounds.
CanadaSaint Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 I don't recall, thus far, reading any 'i told you so' posts. It nothing to gloat about being utterly pathetic and underperforming. Believe me I am not gloating. I take absolutely no pleasure in this result. NONE. There is nothing I would want more than to have a load of people laughing at me as we romp to the title. I'm not saying told you so, this is the last thing I wanted. It's ruined the next few days for me. Much of what you guys post is either an "I told you so" or preparation for one. And I'm sorry but I don't believe you when you say you want to be wrong. The constant, unremitting negativity is a clear sign that you actually want to be right - especially as you're harder to find around here after a good result. It was a dire result and everyone is sickened by it, but having to read your predictable crap every time we underperform makes it even worse. Sometimes silence speaks a lot louder.
Griffo Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 On the way home now. What a **** evening. Missed so, so many chances and they go and score with the only proper chance they have. Very little football on the deck tonight, just ended up lumping it forward all game. Great support in numbers, made **** all noise yet again though. Roll on Saturday.
John B Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Just got back in and cannot believe the result I was pretty sure we were going to win tonight Dont know what to expect from our next game

Mattio Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 (edited) f*cking sh*t but not the end of our season, hopefully adkins can get the boys to bounce back and win a few on the spin... if not then we're fooked... Edited 1 March, 2011 by Mattio pendants!

Thedelldays Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 We all know how Saints fans deal with pressure. Yeah. By demanding another manager lol That is why the play offs for us would be a complete waste of time. The moaning would be unbearable

um pahars Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 I'm amazed at how many people find this result surprising. ........................................ We've been awful for a while now Indeed, we have been off the boil for quite a few games now, and even the wins we have pulled off have flattered us. We really have been misfiring since that Oldham thrashing and can't really seem to be able to put my finger on just what is going wrong. Of course there is still plenty of time to turn things around, but I'm just struggling at the moment to see what will bring about such a shift in performances and more importantly results. 4 awkward away games now in March which makes me very concerned.
maysie Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 no lightbulb?? ADKINS OUT!!!! Apparently Adkins beat him to the last one in the shop. True story
CanadaSaint Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 We all know how Saints fans deal with pressure. Yep. Fancy sitting across from some of this lot in a dressing room?

It was a dire result and everyone is sickened by it, but having to read your predictable crap every time we underperform makes it even worse. Sometimes silence speaks a lot louder. Well TBH I don't give a f*ck if you 'don't believe me.' I am a Southampton fan and I dearly want us to do well. That does not mean excusing every sh*te performance and no I don't come on here after every bad performance, it just so happens that I was particularly fecked off by the utterly predictable performance this evening. I regularly come on here after a good result (see my reaction to the Swindon result on Saturday and the Exeter result which I actually went to) so you are completely wrong there. You are wrong.
egreog Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Shocking result really when the opportunity to make up ground was there for the taking!!.......as with most clubs nowadays, full of overpaid journeymen who frankly will play for anyone who pays the most cash. Play offs are , I believe, unlikely now. Too many other teams are picking up points.......7th place is my prediction, but hey at least Bournemouth and Brighton are on an upward trend , so good for south coast footy in general
maysie Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Yeah. By demanding another manager lol That is why the play offs for us would be a complete waste of time. The moaning would be unbearable Or running around like hysterical tarts, who have just found a spot on the night of the big prom

Checkout who started the matchday threads on Saturday and was who online and posting throughout the post match thread. And kept very quiet throughout todays matchday thread. Actually, why am i trying to justify my views to you. Put me on ignore, probably for the best eh.
Charlie Wayman Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 I imagine this will be the end of the Adkins regime. Mr Cortese will not be a happy man, he wants promotion this year and Adkins seems ever more incapable of delivering it. No predictions but to deliver promotion now a new guy needs the games in hand and enough time to get things stabilised for the run-in so it has to be now before the match on Saturday and another disastrous result. If nothing changes and we lose again at Colchester it might be the end of it for this season and Adkins would surely not get another chance so ergo it seems entirely logical that he will be fired tomorrow provided that Corteses has a replacement up his sleeve. The remaining question is "Who?" It's no good handing over to Wilkins as he couldn't handle it last time and now all of the best candidates with the exception of Big Sam are in work and MON of course. Could we just cling to a glimmer of hope that one of those guys might take a chance on us? The alternative doesn't bear thinking abut, Cortese and the Liebherr family lose interest and sell up and we are well and truly b*ggered and stuck down here as an impoverished club with years of third division football to come.
doddisalegend Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 f*cking sh*t but not the end of our season, hopefully atkins can get the boys to bounce back and win a few on the spin... if not then we're fooked... Wow NC didn't waste much time.............. who has he managed before?......... tough match at colchester for our new manager..........
Chap in the Chapel Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Right. A view now from someone at the game. Tonight was one of the biggest muggings I've ever seen. An utter travesty, in fact. We totally dominated, creating loads of chances and made one mistake at the back that cost the game. They had two shots worthy of the name and Kelvin was blameless. Their keeper had a blinder, making six great saves, and we had a couple of shots cleared off the line. We managed all this despite abysmal refereeing - he gave us nothing all night including an obvious handball when the ball rolled up Richards' arm! Football's unfairness was on show tonight in a big way and I hope this has a galvanising effect. We can't afford many more bad results, regardless of the performances though.
saintrich Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 No Adkins it isn't a freak result, this is typical of our performances since Adkins came in. Getting rid of Pardew was a fecking stupid idea. League one! And we lose to Walsall. WALSALL!!!! Feck me what an absolute joke. Adkins is an uninspiring tosser. I don't care what sh*tty stats nickg comes out with, it is a joke of a result and just sh*t. Do you suffer from depression? It WAS a freak result - we created numerous opportunities and played more than well enough to win the game, but were denied by some heroic defending and goalkeeping - how about giving the other team some credit instead of speculating that it was down to our performance that we didn't win. Walsall rarely troubled us and but for a huge jaidi cock up we'd have a clean sheet.
ART Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Disappointing result but the reaction on here is way overboard. We've still two games in hand over the clubs above us. Lose one and win 3 seems to be Atkins plan, that is, if he has one. Sad is to see the Skates winning again and with an outside chance of the play offs in the championship. When will we ever learn, when will be learn!!
hypochondriac Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Shocking result really when the opportunity to make up ground was there for the taking!!.......as with most clubs nowadays, full of overpaid journeymen who frankly will play for anyone who pays the most cash. Probably about half the squad actually care whilst the other half couldn't give a f*ck.
CWD Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Yep. Fancy sitting across from some of this lot in a dressing room? Oh shut up. It means a lot to some people when their football team loses. Let people be a bit fed up for a few hours and stop being so bloody high and mighty
corky morris Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Just got in. We had lots of efforts on goal, but dont think for a second we played well & were unlucky...... Why did Adkins start with Chaplow on the wing? Then bring NGuesson on who was actually playing well only to be bought off. That will do his confidence loads of good Nigel!!!! NOT!!! Harding, BUtterfield, Hammond all very poor. Jaidi, Fonte, Chaplow, Lambert not much better. Davis had very little to do & we missed some free headers. I am starting to worry about Adkins now. He looks a little lost.............I have to admit I had more faith in Pardew. All that ******** spouted about Hartlepool, Tranmere, Brentford from Adkins. I want to hear him take some responsibility for some of HIS decisions & stop the nonsense about buildings!!
Dalek2003 Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 I imagine this will be the end of the Adkins regime. Automatic promotion is looking less likely, but we will not finish outside of the top 6. Not.A.Chance. How we do in the playoffs is down to the fate of the gods.
Colinjb Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Just back from the game. That was a complete clusterf*ck of a performance. The tactics were all wrong. The sub for Morgan was all wrong. Walsall were dreadful. We gave it to them on a silver platter. No imagination. Either too simple hoofing or happy tappy nothing. I may write up the match report if I can be arsed.
hypochondriac Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Do you suffer from depression? In a particularly bad mood this evening so it's harder to handle this cr*p performance.
theyin Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 A recent thread asking what was your first Saints game/favorite underrated player etc asked at then end where we realistically might be in 5 years. I thought the answers were on the whole very pessimistic. I'm starting to fear they might be right

Dalek2003 Posted 1 March, 2011 Posted 1 March, 2011 Adkins has always been out of his depth, he is apoor mans version of luggy in 2004 !
