chrisobee Posted 1 March, 2011 Share Posted 1 March, 2011 Yes, I posted this elsewhere yesterday : Yep, the UK is definitely racist, even our Olympic logo is "racist" http://insidethegames.biz/summer-oly...tq-claims-iran

JackFrost Posted 1 March, 2011 Share Posted 1 March, 2011 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympic_games/9410046.stm Thoughts? There is a vague likeness but it's nothing more than publicity seeking guff from the Iranians. Even if they did boycott the only countries that would notice would be Indonesia and Iraq. Saintandy666 Posted 1 March, 2011 Share Posted 1 March, 2011 2012, looks a little bit like zion anyways...(if the 2 is slighted tilted, even more so) so really Iran are over reacting here.
dune Posted 1 March, 2011 Share Posted 1 March, 2011 lol. It's the Iranians making the complaint so don't take it seriously.

Gemmel Posted 1 March, 2011 Share Posted 1 March, 2011 Absolutely ******* pathetic. Kick them out of the games. There is enough problems and tension in the World without creating more out of nowhere. All the more stupid as Jerusalem is a holy muslim city

Hamilton Saint Posted 1 March, 2011 Share Posted 1 March, 2011 (edited) Someone should explain that we read left-to-right, top-to-bottom. So, if it does say anything, it's ZOIN, not ZION. But it's silly, anyway. If they really do believe that nonsense, let them boycott. No response required - they just need to be laughed at. A terrible logo, btw. hypochondriac Posted 1 March, 2011 Share Posted 1 March, 2011 Not racist but a total waste of money, doing damage to a number of businesses and local residents? Sure. The olympics is a massive rip off and swindle. It should have a permanent residence in Athens to stop the horrendous waste.

The Olympics have been sited in an area which registers as one of the poorest in the country. At the moment, the building works are on budget and on time. If the 'legacy' promises come good too, this Olympics could pay for itself as a few others have.

(Of sorts.) I am surprised you have not heard more about this. I went to an interesting talk by a man who has followed the olympics for a few years and has actually gone and spoken to people affected by various olympics. I spoke to him at length afterwards and some of the stories he told me were staggering. I am looking for his website and if I find it you can see for yourself and possibly read it with an open mind, or do you not practice what you preach?
