Wellington NZ has just had an earthquake

4.5 but 40Kms ( 25 miles ) deep and 20kms ( 12 miles ) to the North West, no reports of damage - yet.

I didn't realise NZ had so many earthquakes. Thoughts are with all effected.

Since the ones in Christchurch there have about 30 earthquakes measuring from about 3.0 to 4.5/4.6 today. Hopefully no serious damage. NZ has a tendency for volcanic activity as well as earthquakes because of its position on the boundary of the Australian Plate and Pacific Plates.
