Amazing that they make this mistake over and over again.

 

Surely the obvious thing to do (rather than lengthening the pool) is build the touch-sensitive panel into the tiling...

Not sure what all the fuss is about. The Olympic pool is in Stratford. This pool is used for training which doesn't need timing boards, hence it is exactly the right length. Sounds like one political party is using this non story to attack another.

If they are going to "lose millions" then they should invest in some wafer thin touch panels and remove the tiles. I am sure a touch panel does not need to be 50mm thick. An iPhone is 8mm thick and is an effective touch panel ( it don't like getting wet though)
