Will we make the playoffs

I am sorry that you feel that this thread is arrogant and premature but if you look at the Championship Table you will notice that both Leeds and Norwich are in the playoffs.

So I was thinking whether it would be possible for SFC to be in the play offs next season not it is going to be easy to get to the PL

And I think Micky was suggesting maybe you worry about getting into the Championship first?

I am well aware that both Leeds and Norwich are doing fantastically well in the Championship, but if you take a look at the League 1 table / form, you might find that we are doing less well and the likelyhood of even being in the Championship next season is deminishing fast.

Arrogance for assuming that we will be promoted and premature because we have soooo much work to do to get there. Personally I hope your aspirations come true - but right now there are other teams on the South Coast who are showing less arrogance but are much better placed to host this thread on their boards.

**** me we're making a hash of getting out this league never mind the next one.

Yep, looking at the way the team play and the ever-mounting injury list (which I warned about the danger of a month ago when the happy-clappers sermonised about the squad being strong enough already) we will be luck to hold on to a play-off place this season.

I still think our squad is strong enough most teams in this league would kill for a line up and strength in depth we have. Bournemouth have managed to get to second without even having a full subs bench at times. Just how much of an advantage do we need to get promoted?

You are asking the wrong person; I completely agree with you. If we cannot make the most of the advantage we have with a full squad, WTF are we going to do with a Russian bread queue for the treatment table ?

Time to re-run the sticky on where we will finish? Still think third.

Looking at it statistically without sltting wrists over Walsall - if we win all the head to head games third possibly second but not first unless Brighton blow up completely - if we lose them all and continue to screw up against the lower league teams sixth and possibly seventh if Charlton or some of the others do not lose many games. Try it on BBC predictor but on a reasoned basis i.e. the higher teams beat the lower (except us) and draw with each other etc

Still think second myself but may have to revise this once the real injury situation and the true card count become evident.

For instance if we had to ever play Forecast because Bart is out long/medium term and we ever end up with a CM pairing of Chaplow/Gobern then

I'd have to revise my opinion.

Good God, do Cortese and Adkins actually realise that it could happen ????

I guess so and they seem to find it acceptable. I mean TF was on the bench on Tuesday and an injury to a keeper is always a possibility.I thought we had the Arsenal lad for a month, perhaps it was some sort of emergency loan that ended when Forecast came back though.Tis a strange situation, league rules perhaps, then again it could be something that the coach responsible for

Arse's reserves or youth team didn't like about our set up, who really knows. We have become so secretive about absolutely everything nowadays that you never really know anything.Perhaps Bart is nearly back to operational fitness.

If that is true, then you have to say that we ARE underachieving, ie both Brighton and Bournemouth are more CONSISTANT than Saints

The question you have to ask is, WHY are we not higher with the "Best Squad " in the league

Simple answer .... you have to EARN a victory on the pitch, not to just run on it and expect the opposition to roll over

We do not possess a "Tough" mental approach, and it is beginning to show Big Time

I still think our only problem is the lack of an out and out striker,a quarter chance converter if you like.I just cannot understand why this hasn't been rectified by now.
