Saints v Walsall build-up

This is a massive game as far as I'm concerned. Win it and we're 3 behind Boscombe with 2 games in hand and a better goal difference, and above PBoro and Hudders and still a game in hand. If we win tomorrow a draw at Boscombe will be quite a good result, lose tomorrow and Boscombe starts looking "make or break".We also need to ramp up the pressure on Brighton, being caught up by one side is one thing, but the presure increases if it's the autos you could blow, rather than just the title.

My views exactly. Tonight is really make or break. I feel confident but hope it is not misplaced.

Am leaving for the game soon as I am getting the coach and I rang up the Saints TO to check about the tickets and they said that you can use the same ticket that you got for the scheduled game when it was supposed to be played which is Good news for me ;)!

I also checked on http://www.footballgroundguide.co.uk about where the best Pubs are and I saw that there are a few around the ground so depending on what time the coach gets in I will be going for a pre match drink before the game!

Will see you all there whoever's going to it on here!

COYR :D!!

Walsall's results have improved a bit of late, probably due to the manager change,might not be as easy as many seem to think. 2-1 win for us perhaps.

They have indeed.A draw tonight will lift them out of the bottom four so they should be motivated.

Providing we approach it in the right way and NA motivates then we should still have enough to win though.

A repeat of last year would be perfect, 3-1 saints. If Guly didn't travel then Barney should definitely start! I think he deserves too either way based on saturday and the fact he scores more per game than Guly. Come on you Saints!!!

We could go 4-5-1 I suppose but Barney deserves to start. Trouble is he doesn't seem to last 90 all that well and we may have to revert to a different formation from about 75 minutes onwards.

Connolly should be on the bench too in that case. Would be good to see him get a run out tonight

Connolly = like-for-like replacement?

Barnard seems far more effective when coming on as a sub. The problem is that he scores when he comes on as a sub, is rewarded with a start, and more often than not fails to deliver... repeat ad nauseum.

Walsall are likely to park the bus. So I'd like to see an aggressive 4-3-3, N'Guessan and Chambo out wide with Lallana at the spearhead of a Chelsea-esque midfield 3. Bags of attacking intent and gives us the most flexibility for substitutions if we need to make a change (either to shut up shop or push for a winner).

But it won't happen. I predict Barnard straight in to a 4-4-2, and a long laboured effort trying to break down a resolute Walsall side. Narrow win for Saints, but a 0-0 would by no means be out of the question either.

I think we should play Fonte upfront as he is mobile and has scored four goals this season.

Connolly hasn't scored any so we should put him in at centre back instead.

Morgan must play in goal.

Good to see someone talk a bit of sense on here at last - FACT

My first choices for the two CMs would be Chaplow and Schneiderlin anyway.

Agreed - well almost. We are simply better with these guys it's true, but not on a cold Tuesday night up north perhaps. I think playing Hammond makes a lot of sense when it comes to putting in a shift away from home, so my choice for this game would be him and Chappers.

Other than that, we should win this comfortably. 1-1 draw it is then.

Is that the bus Nigel has our players on? Will they park it near the building?

@jordansibley: Still waiting for the teamsheet, but expecting the #saintsfc lineup to be: KD. DB, JF, RJ, DH. RC, DH, MS, AL. LB, RL

Glad he's gone with the diamond. Good choice to keep it tight away from home.

Shea gone back to Arsenal - Forecast on the bench !!! Start praying that Kelvin doesn't collide with a post or something !

I should be driving to the match now, but somehow contrived to leave the light on in my car last night so it won't start. So annoyed with myself. Guess I'll just have to follow it on here.

Anyway, COYR! Let's win the games we should and get promoted automatically.

didn't even stay the month then,surely we're not going to risk Forecast at any time in the near future.Strange decision,I mean Arsenal can't be short of the odd goalkeeper.

If Kelvin should get injured we'd have to park the bus;and probably the QE2 as well;

Oh they have a lot of odd keepers :-)

Presuambly they called him back and presumably we will go and get a decent reserve as back up.
