What are your views on moderate groups at football?

I really enjoy a weak lemon drink from a flask and am always willing to share it around (I bring extra cups) but nobody else around me in the Northam seems to be interested as they are all singing along. Perhaps if we were to set up a Southampton Moderates group, we could all sit together and share weak lemon drinks? Perhaps one of us could bake a cake every week? I make a lovely Cherry & Walnut Loaf, but there is always too much for me to eat on my own so it would be great to share it.

Perhaps if likeminded supporters would like to join this group, you could all move your season tickets to alongside me in the Northam?

Perhaps someone would be able to knit a tartan blanket that we could stretch across all of our legs, so that everyone knows who we are?

Anyone interested, let me know. If we get enough numbers together, we could hold a meeting at my house. There will be cucumber sandwiches and fairy cakes.

I've written to the club before regarding addtional pre and post match uses for the pitch. My idea was that, for say a pound a head, a system could be set up where supporters would be able to turn up an hour early with picnic baskets, rugs and things, sit on the grass and have a relax, perhaps with some Michael Buble through the pa. It's such a lovely kept green it seems a shame for it to have such a small window of use.

Thank you, CL. I hope you have enough digestives for the whole group? I can see this one taking off. Can you imagine it in a few years time, a Wednesday night in the Champion's League at home to Barcelona: the camera pans on to 400 Saints fans with blankets over their knees, passing around the digestives and having a good old chinwag about when is best to repot the azaleas for the winter?

I agree, Verbal. Less tea, more milk. That's what we Moderates want. And by golly, we'll get it.

May i suggest we ask for a range of refreshing non caffeine based hot beverages, such as peppermint tea? I would be willing to join the group to raise this important issue with the club. However, you will have to change your stance on the toilet rolls. I think a handy pocket sized pack of mini tissues should be allowed, rather than the whole roll. After all, this only takes up important pocket space which i reserve for my gloves and foldaway shopping bag. Another suggestion may be that the club allow the post office to set up a kiosk next to the ladbrookes betting stall. After all, some of us aren't interested in gambling, but putting a few coppers change in my savings account whilst at the game would be most helpful.
