chrisobee Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Still a few weeks away but already plenty of interest and lots of free sites to check out. Since horse racing tips have died a death maybe this might generate some interest and maybe a 4 day tipping challenge. Any thoughts, ideas, ante-post fancies ? A few good sites/articles : http://www.attheraces.com/cheltenham/index.aspx?ref=rhspromo http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/racing/article-1359213/Paul-Nicholls-guide-runners-Cheltenham-Festival.html http://www.cheltenham.co.uk/ http://www.cheltenham-festival.co.uk/cheltenham-free-bets.php?src=yahoo&kywd=cheltenham+generic2009&OVRAW=Cheltenham%20Festival&OVKEY=cheltenham%20festival&OVMTC=standard&OVADID=6727138031&OVKWID=46179059031&OVCAMPGID=328508531&OVADGRPID=4573852419

Finding the winner of any race will be hard. At present if I had to name one for the Gold Cup it would be Pandorama. Reported to be working well and has been supported on Betfair. http://www.attheraces.com/cheltenham/article.aspx?hlid=514876&lid=18+mar+2011+-+15:20+-+gold+cup&raceid=302640&title=Pandorama+delights+Meade+in+spin&ref=Race+-+Cheltenham+-+18+Mar+2011+-+15:20+-+Gold+Cup&nav=&sub=&day=Mon

chrisobee Posted 28 February, 2011 Author Share Posted 28 February, 2011 I think most of the forum went bust on Day 1 TBH I skimmed through the thread for Day 1, shocking. This is the final day, I have not read it again and not sure I want to ! labibs Posted 1 March, 2011 Share Posted 1 March, 2011 Good work on getting a thread set up Chris. I agree we all need a better performance than last year! I was on French Opera in the last, to see him pipped by Pigeon Island on the line was sickening and just summed up the whole week for me! I will be there with benjii on the Friday, but will be following the races all week. I see Paddy Power are giving a refund on all losing bets if cue card wins the Supreme Novices. That's a decent offer if you fancy one of the other horses in the race but are a little frightened by Cue Card's runs this season (much like I am with Spirit Son)
RedArmy Posted 1 March, 2011 Share Posted 1 March, 2011 It'll be good to see Ruby back. I don't think I'm gonna bother spending too much this year, probably a patent every day and then a bit more on the big races. Looking forward to what Peddlers Cross does in the CH. Midnight Chase e/w in the Gold Cup too, that horse loves Cheltenham.

According to MetCheck not a drop of rain predicted for Cheltenham this coming week. It must be on the soft side of good there at the moment. notnowcato Posted 1 March, 2011 Share Posted 1 March, 2011 For a bit of fun, those interested should put up a selection of a horse they intend to back at the Festival. My selection would have to be Ghizao in the Arkle. Giddy up!

Yes, I was going to mention that but was in such a state of shock was unable to do so Notably in 2009 my wonderful threads and input were missing, the response on here that year was very poor, oh dear oh dear Hopefully ( or maybe not) will be able to drag Frankie back in time for the festival ! Frankie could be back, has not posted ever on Cheltenham to my knowledge. Hatch might find the lure of once more showing his tipping prowess too hard to resist. Personally though purely for extra entertainment we need the kipper man to be given a 4 day amnesty.

labibs Posted 7 March, 2011 Share Posted 7 March, 2011 I've been given a tip of Sparky May in the Mares' Hurdle at Cheltenham. Anyone know anything about this horse? Is it worth a punt? Quevega will be the massive, massive favourite here and if she turns up on top form, she'll win. Sparky May is unbeaten this season and has beaten both Carole's legacy and L'accordioniste already this season. At decent odds she'd definitely be worth a punt.
