musesaint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 If you read the Article in the Echo today ...it says it all
musesaint Posted 26 February, 2011 Author Posted 26 February, 2011 I didn't read it. Can you say it for me? Ok .... "It" Or http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/8877832.Lallana_makes_Saints_a_different_side/
Toadhall Saint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 No he's not - he's a very naughty boy!
jam Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Ok .... "It" Or http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/8877832.Lallana_makes_Saints_a_different_side/ Cheers, I assumed it was another one of those articles that would only make it into the print version. Had to notice this line: Research by the Daily Echo shows that, when Lallana starts, Saints are the best team in League One. I'm guessing that 'research' means looking through NickG's post history...
Turkish Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 the echo bore the f*ck out of me with their daily stats bo*locks. making sh*t articles out of nothing stories to fill up space.
NickG Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Although he makes a big impact, it is worth remembering that the number of games missed is quite small and included the Wilkins era.

SNSUN Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Tiss is God, Adam is the son of God. Or SOG for short.
alpine_saint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 the echo bore the f*ck out of me with their daily stats bo*locks. making sh*t articles out of nothing stories to fill up space. Wow, your reaction to this was predictable.
alpine_saint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Tiss is God, Adam is the son of God. Or SOG for short. Careful. I wouldnt want to see him tarred with the same brush as SadOldGit.
sadoldgit Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Careful. I wouldnt want to see him tarred with the same brush as SadOldGit. Aha Alps, lost none of your charm I see!
Turkish Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Wow, your reaction to this was predictable. Glad i didn't disapoint. It's called stating the bleeding obvious. Which team isn't going to be better with the best player in their division in it? Ye they have made a whole story about this. They do it every day with some boring stat or another about something completely uninteresting, like yesterdays article about which team has most games left against other teams in the top half of the league. THe fact that there are only 8 points between 8th and 18th and in 3 games time the top and bottom halves could look totally different seem to be ignored.
SuperSAINT Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Fairly amazing stats, all things considered.
Barry the Badger Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Those stats are a bit frightening. Off topic slightly but a woman at work this week told me she didn't like Matthew Le Tissier as she's religious and the fans call him 'god'. I had to explain that he doesn't actually think he is god, to the best of my knowledge. I hope she doesn't see this thread (unlikely I guess) or Adam Lallana may have one less fan.

You've been taking the p*ss out of me for weeks for saying that we are crap without Lallana. Now you call it the "bleeding obvious". Do you have a problem with self-awareness ?
richardc Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 i thought tiss was le God and Adam was La god
PhilippineSaint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 No he's not - he's a very naughty boy! Stoneham Stoneham
Window Cleaner Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 So then Genesis is autobiographical ??
Minsk Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 By their reasoning it should be N'Guessan to start every game for the rest of the season - 2 starts/2 wins.
Bushey Saint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 By their reasoning it should be N'Guessan to start every game for the rest of the season - 2 starts/2 wins. Not a statistically valid sample
Danbert Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 the echo bore the f*ck out of me with their daily stats bo*locks. making sh*t articles out of nothing stories to fill up space. Quite agree. They're f*uckin full of the themselves too... reasearch my *rse "Research by the Daily Echo shows that, when Lallana starts, Saints are the best team in League One."
aintforever Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Fairly compelling stats, Lallana does make us tick, we just have to hope he stays fit. Quite an interesting observation by the Echo, don't see why it warrants abuse by the usual simpletons on here. if you don't like it don't buy it you retards.
Asaint4ever Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Sorry but for me there will only be one god! And that is legod!
revolution saint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Although he makes a big impact, it is worth remembering that the number of games missed is quite small and included the Wilkins era. Which could of course explain why the Wilkins era was so ****e.
Turkish Posted 27 February, 2011 Posted 27 February, 2011 (edited) Your hypocrisy is outstanding. You've been taking the p*ss out of me for weeks for saying that we are crap without Lallana. Now you call it the "bleeding obvious". Do you have a problem with self-awareness ? Do you have a problem with reading? I said "which team isn't going to be better with the best player in their division in it?" Something i also said on the various discussions we have had regarding him. Hardly hypocrisy. By the way what happened yesterday? We hit the post twice, how can this be? Surely Lallana could have waved his magic wand and diverted the ball into the net or why didn't his mere presence on the pitch make Chamberlain and Gullys aim that 5% better to make the ball go three inches right and inside the post instead of hit it? Those stats should scare the **** out of Adkins. The fact that one player is so key amoungst the squad we have is not right. Whilst stats can be used in many different ways and to suit different agendas, the reality is we know that what the echo are trying to emphasise or suggest, is actually spot on. Of course every team miss their best player, but we simply don't play or click when Lallana isn't in the team. I would go as far as saying we are more dependant on him than we were on Le Tissier in his day. Now obvioulsy MLT was at a different level, but regardless of the points between 8 and 18th, on paper we are a "Lallana picks up a knock" away from a fooked up season.

You've got to remember that those stats include the Wilkins era when we were managerless, clueless and didn't win a game. The results in his last lay off are more of an accurate reflection on his impact. Of course we are a better team with him but i disgree that we are "Lallana picks up a knock away from a fooked up season".
Surman4no7shirt Posted 27 February, 2011 Posted 27 February, 2011 By the logic used in this article without Davis we would have 0 points this season.
