Carling Cup final winners - CL spot?

Just thinking about the CC Final coming up this w/e...a competition that the big clubs are seemingly taking a little more seriously these days.

 

I am a great fan of these knock out competitions and don't want the Premier League to bulldoze its way over everyone and everything else.

 

Do you think that the Champions League places should be made up of PL Winners and Runners Up. FA Cup winners replacing 3rd place in PL and Carling Cup winners replacing 4th place? I know that the PL would never ever agree to it, but I am confused as to who is running football in this country.

 

As has been discussed numerous times, what have 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the PL actually won? What are they champions of? 3rd and 4th in the PL can go into the Europa League, as football in this country should not be geared primarily to the PL.

No, don't agree. Although the "champions" league is misnamed, the fairest way to decide the best teams is League position.

 

I would merge the Champs Lge and the Europa Lge, however.

I definately think the FA Cup champs should get the 4th place. CC Cup winners should get a Europa league place together with the 4th, 5th & 6th placed Premier League teams. Won't happen while the big 4 or 5 clubs have so much influence.

Footballers/Clubs shouldn't need any incentives to try and win a Cup Competition.
