Hatch Posted 23 February, 2011 Share Posted 23 February, 2011 Daughter has forgotten her password to access her laptop. Just took it down the local PC repair shop and they wanted £25!!! to reset it. Surely there must be a better / cheaper alternative to this Any help much appreciated.

thesaint sfc Posted 24 February, 2011 Share Posted 24 February, 2011 you could try pressing F8 when the computer first goes past its initial boot screen (the one where you usually get a manufacturer logo E.G Dell) - choose safe mode. That might give you the option to log in as administrator (if admin has no password set) - then you can change her password in there ?
