Fitzhugh Fella Posted 23 February, 2011 Author Posted 23 February, 2011 I have to say Deppo's train picture did make I laugh. Think Pancake is going to get a free book.
sambosa75 Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 TDAJFU or Playerpedia... you could then start a franchise for all clubs... good little earner there... no need to thank me.
thorpie the sinner Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 I have to say Deppo's train picture did make I laugh. Think Pancake is going to get a free book. I think a compromise could have been reached FF: All saints: stars in stripes 1256 to the present day PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!
aintforever Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 The Good the Bad and Le Tissier. Na, "All Saints" is bang on.
scott_saints Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 "If this red and white striped book with a Saints logo on it has attracted you, then you are probably a Southampton Football Club supporter. Well here is a list of the complete and utter s**t players that you have watched and who have played for us in our pretty s**t history of mainly being s**t"
Deano6 Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 "If this red and white striped book with a Saints logo on it has attracted you, then you are probably a Southampton Football Club supporter. ericb Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 "...if however you were attracted to the red and white stripes because you're a Stoke fan, you may like to check out our 2003-06 section. Not forgetting "if you're an arsenal fan try the youth version to see who you'll be signing soon"
SpookyDookySaints Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 " They Marched in Red and White.............." Keep it simple.................. Perhaps a picture of players running out of the " Tunnell " with each player representing a different era.....this as the cover design....
Deppo Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 "...if however you were attracted to the red and white stripes because you're a Stoke fan, you may like to check out our 2003-06 section. I love you. Come home.
Johnny Shearer Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 All Saints is good but prefer... The Saints Feels more definitive to me personally!
vince Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 (edited) "A Communion of Saints" (tis the official collective noun) This - http://www.ojohaven.com/collectives/ - says the collective noun is "A Calendar Of Saints", which I quite like. Can the copy of my book have Deppo's train on the back, ta. Edited 23 February, 2011 by vince spelling lesson from The9
Clapham Saint Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 In the spirit of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly... The Saints, The Sinners and Ian Dowie
Badger Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 .... and what about 'Solent blue'? Thought it was called 'Solent Green' ; these were the two chevrons on our away kit where the main colour was described as "wight".
The9 Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 Solent Green, a brilliant little homage to this 1973 film, though quite why Hummel would want to recall that given what it turned out to be, who knows.
The9 Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 This - http://www.ojohaven.com/collectives/ - says the collective noun is "A Calender Of Saints", which I quite like. Can the copy of my book have Deppo's train on the back, ta. Actually it says "calendar of Saints", which is probably better, as a "calender" is a series of hard pressure rollers used to form or smooth a sheet of material
saint_stevo Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 I have to say Deppo's train picture did make I laugh. Think Pancake is going to get a free book. Why what did he do?
Hamilton Saint Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 All Saints Days Lives of the Saints Litany of the Saints (with appropriate sub-title to delineate the precise subject of the book)
SaintNeil90 Posted 23 February, 2011 Posted 23 February, 2011 Not seen this mentioned yet... THE RED AND WHITE ARMY
solentstars Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 red and white legends A Complete Who's Who of Sounthampton FC's First Team Players (1885-2011)'
modern matron Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 a Complete Who's Who of Southampton FC
modern matron Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 Cocked up meant to be - "Blessed to be a Saint - a complete who's Who of Southampton FC"
Deppo Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 If Pancake is getting a free book, can you at least put a dedication to me in the book?
eelpie Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 Now all I need is a cover suggestion and a designer Who was it that designed the brilliant Seargent Pepper spoof back in Keith Legge's forum? There you have your designer, and (updated) design. And for title, simply The Saints!!
eelpie Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 How about commissioning Ron Davies to do the cover design?
Pancake Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 (edited) Who was it that designed the brilliant Seargent Pepper spoof back in Keith Legge's forum? There you have your designer, and (updated) design. And for title, simply The Saints!! Twas I. EDIT: If you mean this one? Edited 24 February, 2011 by Pancake
Papa Shango Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 Twas I. EDIT: If you mean this one? Very good
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 Colander of Saints ? At last! Something holey connected to Saints (and it's not our defence!).
Hatch Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 Even Pele played for us. History of Saints - Including Pele, Moore, Best and Charlton
qwertySFC Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 " They All Crossed The Red and White Line "
rpb Posted 24 February, 2011 Posted 24 February, 2011 'For all the Saints' A similar theme or has somebody suggested it already?
bigdavewatson Posted 25 February, 2011 Posted 25 February, 2011 Stars IN Stripes would work better imo I was going to suggest this or, ALL SAINTS DAYS or "Nothing to offer but blood toil tears and sweat - a who's who of Southampton FC " that is how it feels sometimes! to continue the song theme; I Can't read and I can't write.... :-) GREAT NAME FOR A BOOK IMHO Wash your mouth out son...
eelpie Posted 25 February, 2011 Posted 25 February, 2011 Twas I. EDIT: If you mean this one? That's the one. Twas you. My hat donned to you sir. Brilliant Now for FF to arrange for Ron Davies to do caricatures of the players in colour, crop out all non-players, and we have a brilliant cover design!
Pat from Poole Posted 25 February, 2011 Posted 25 February, 2011 That's the one. Twas you. My hat donned to you sir. Brilliant Now for FF to arrange for Ron Davies to do caricatures of the players in colour, crop out all non-players, and we have a brilliant cover design! Jermaine Wright and Bradley Sh1te-Phillips, FFS!!!
(not THE) Kevin Moore Posted 25 February, 2011 Posted 25 February, 2011 How about: "There's Only One Forbes Phillipson-Masters - a Complete Who's Who of Southampton FC" For the purists... Can't believe I'm going to waste my final post of the day on this, but for old times sake.... "three players in one, he was"
Rod Le Shearer Posted 25 February, 2011 Posted 25 February, 2011 I think it would be a good idea to keep the title of the book related to our song. how about just re-writing the title from "oh when the Saints go marching in", to "These were the Saints marching in" ? Or "Presenting all the Saints marching in - A complete who`s who of Southampton FC".
SaintNeil90 Posted 25 February, 2011 Posted 25 February, 2011 Not keen on the all saints idea personally, just reminds me of that sh*te girl band. I prefer... Red and White Army (as it is a who's who guide of Southampton FC, its like a Southampton FC army)
eelpie Posted 27 February, 2011 Posted 27 February, 2011 Jermaine Wright and Bradley Sh1te-Phillips, FFS!!! I did say 'crop out all the non-players'!
suewhistle Posted 27 February, 2011 Posted 27 February, 2011 For All The Saints [Who from their labours rest] First line of a romping hymn which would tie in with the church connection
