SNSUN Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Narrow win today. Avenge our bogey team and keep pace at the top. Wish I weren't working. 2-1.

Lord Duckhunter Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 I never really understand the theory that 17-18 yr old players get tired more easily than those in their 20s. It's not so much a physical thing more of a mental one. Players lose concentration when tired, and with experiance comes the know how to concentrate in every situation. Older players also keep the ball slightly bettter and dont tear around all over the place. Most Managers dip youngsters in and out of the team during their first couple of seasons.
Dr Who? Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 ok to get a ticket on the gate today? Yep, but get there earlier if you can as the queues are large..... well they were for Rochdale home!
Dr Who? Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 See I am in two minds today, we will smash them 4 or 5 - 0 or we will struggle and get a point. I think it depends on how they set out against us, hopefully not like Notts County!!
SNSUN Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 -------------------------------------Davis------------------------------ Butterfield----------------------Fonte--------------Jaidi----------------------Harding Chambo-------------Chaplow---------------Morgan------------------Lallana --------------------Lambert-------------Barnard------------------- Bench: Shea, Butters, Martin, Dickson, Guly, Hammond, Connolly? It's a good job we have Butterfield on the bench in case Butterfield gets tired...
Turkish Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 See I am in two minds today, we will smash them 4 or 5 - 0 or we will struggle and get a point. I think it depends on how they set out against us, hopefully not like Notts County!! HOw do you think they will set up? A team who haven't won for ten games going into on of their tougest fixtures of the season aren't going to come and play passing attacking football are they. They'll park the bus, now for the obvious gag, lets hope it's Nigels bus they park and he is driving and moves it out of the way.
simo Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 My boy recons 3-1 saints Lambert, lallana and chambo in that order !
dune Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 At least if we lose we have alpine saint to cheer us up. It's only a game.
jam Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 I never really understand the theory that 17-18 yr old players get tired more easily than those in their 20s. Something to do with the fact that their bodies haven't developed and they are not used to playing first team games every week?
Toadhall Saint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 I take it David Prutton will be playing?
jam Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 I don't but the previous poster had him dropped for N'Guessan in his hypothetical side. I still think AOC is playing too often though and may have lost a bit of his sharpness. That and the fact that he's a recognised threat now, which combined with Lallana's absense meant that opposing teams could put more effort into stopping him play. Playing him on the left and narrow has probably stifled him as well.
Turkish Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 At least if we lose we have alpine saint to cheer us up. It's only a game. It's difficult to know what result would please him the most. Above he says a big win is good thing, then he says it could be detrimental as we didn't play well after winning 6-0 at Oldham, so winning well could be a bad thing. A narrow win wouldn't be good enough as we should be blowing teams like this away and a draw or a defeat, well, i shudder to think.
Trevor in Vancouver Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Anyone worried that we won't get a result today needn't worry anymore. I'm in town and going to the next 4 games, and every game I've ever attended Saints have won. Looking forward to today, it's been 3 years since I've been to St. Mary's. COYS!!
Charlie Wayman Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Bogey team for Saints. Probably lose 2-1 to them unless Morgan is in.
Leicestersaint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Same team as Hartlepool game Oh dear.
Thedelldays Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Even a scrappy 1-0 win will do me. I just want us up in the top two. How we do it or how we play bothers me, NOT
LeBenali Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Unrelated, but with not being a full member, I cannot start a new thread. Just seen on another forum (via Twitter) that I frequent that Dean Richards passed away in the early hours of the morning. Sad news if true...
sandwichsaint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Let's have none of this 'hindsight' stuff after 5pm this evening, your Adkins, wot's your team this afternoon? Davis Butter-Fonte-Jaidi-Harding Morgan N-guess-Hammond-Chaplow-Lallana RL A sort of 4-1-4-1 with AOC and Gully (and Barnard) to come from the bench once we have control of the game (and hopefully an early goal ... RL penalty on 16 minutes after N'Guessen pulled down). That's what I would do.

Kingsbridge Saint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Can we just pretend to be Brighton this weekend. They always seem to win.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Never change a winning team - errr....oh.
K,Billy's supersound Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 4-0 job done bring on walsall and hit them for 3-1 and we march on to second place. lovely.
Window Cleaner Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Looks like today's ref likes to dish out a few cards,we'll have to watch out for that then, don't know how Swindon are fixed on discipline but with Prutton it can't be all that good.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 From the official website: Saints: Davis, Butterfield. Fonte, Jaidi, Harding, Lallana, Chaplow, Hammond, Chamberlain, Guly, Lambert. Subs: Shea, Richardson, Schneiderlin, A. Martin, Gobern, N'Guessan, Barnard.
goodymatt Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 jon forte never seems to make the 18, is he injured?
Leicestersaint Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 Glad to see Schneiderlin back - if only on the bench.
CWD Posted 26 February, 2011 Posted 26 February, 2011 jon forte never seems to make the 18, is he injured? OS - Dan Seaborne, Ryan Dickson, Jonathan Forte, and David Connolly are currently on the sidelines with minor knocks alongside long term absentee Lee Holmes.
