Rochdale off, what are you doing instead?

I went to Preston v QPR. An interesting game but one lacking in consistent quality from both sides really, as expected the difference was the class of Taarabt and Routledge in the first half. Preston were so poor in the first half that QPR clearly thought they didn't have to bother turning up after the break, which let Preston back into it. Cracking finish for the equaliser by Nicholson, but every other touch he had in the game went straight to the opposition.

A very determined second half effort from Preston, but they're so impotent going forward, I can't see how they'll get out of the situation they're in. They brought on an 18-year-old with 8 minutes to go and he had more of an impact than Nathan Ellington, Eddie Johnson and Paul Hayes - their other "strikers" - put together.

Did they look like they could have used Chaplow?

Definitely, but their fans hate him so there wasn't really ever likely to be a way back for him even after Ferguson was sacked.

I don't think they could really afford him either. Strange that their fans were so against him, can't all be because he played for Burnley surely.I mean we didn't hate Crouch unduly did we? Some of the things that PNE fans say about Chappers seem really odd.

I think that Crouch had to earn support from the fans but I also think that he gets cast as a long ball forward because of his size *****il people actually watch him). Fuller definitely got stick for coming from Portsmouth (as well as only costing £90k when we didn't sign Clinton Morrison for £4m)...

I guess we'll get to see how good Eddie Howe was for them.

Went to the FC United game at Gigg Lane, was well worth doing, fair few funny moments throughout the game to keep it entertaining.

On a seperate note, I think it is an absolute disgrace that our game got called off. The conditions were fine, no different to what the weather is always like at this time fo year and games loads of other games were played locally, as join by the FC United game. Does anyone know what pressures are put on clubs to ensure that they make maximum efforts for games to be played? Surely if a club is having rugby played on its pitch every other week, that is going to be a contributing factor to more games being called off than should be. I've had trains booked up for Hartlepool, Walsall, Rochdale this year and had made it as far as Greenwich for the Charlton game, getting seriously ****ed off with it at the moment!

staying with in-laws near Ashbourne.. Considered Stoke but ended up at Crewe v Stevenage

Made me glad we are not in Lge 2 - crap football, crap pitch , ground ok but Crewe is crap

Oh and a real crap game 1-0 to Stevenage.

On top of the the balti pie at half time was crap

There were probably lots of other crap things about the afternoon as well.

Oh yes the weather was crap - freezing cold and heavy snow in derbyshire

Went to watch FC United of Manchester vs Burscough, decent-ish game, 2 great goals as they won 3-1, and they sing continuously for 90 minutes whatever the score is, we could learn something from them in terms of atmosphere!

We were there too. In the Burscough away section along with the other 20 people. I was willing the big man playing no.9 for Burscough to score. Fattest footballer i've seen.
