um pahars Posted 19 February, 2011 Share Posted 19 February, 2011 Once again, apretty decent set of results for us. You're not going to get them going all your way so Hudds & Bmuff drawing & Charlton losing (at home) can't be bad!!!! Posh and MK Dons winning isn't that worrying, particularly if Hartlepool lose at home again midweek!!!!!
Torrent Of Abuse Posted 20 February, 2011 Share Posted 20 February, 2011 (edited) Personally I'm glad that Hartlepool got both a tough game and a demoralising home defeat before Tuesday night. Just in time for a tight 1-0 win for us. It really could come down to little things like that. I think it also points out that putting together a good run or getting points at Dean Court are by no means simple things. Huddersfield apparently only had one or two shots on target all match. Who would have imagined both Exeter beating Charlton and Bristol Rovers winning! Edited 20 February, 2011 by Torrent Of Abuse
bender Posted 20 February, 2011 Share Posted 20 February, 2011 For me our 3 main threats have been Hudds, Bmuff and Charlton. Results have been perfect this week. Once Lallana is back and in the swing of it, we should motor past this lot. The bmuff away game is key for me.

I've been confident this entire year but the Cherries game is a real worry to me, they look nigh unbeatable at the moment and I'm seriously worried about them nicking second. david in sweden Posted 20 February, 2011 Share Posted 20 February, 2011 Nice result for Paul Tisdale at Exeter and especially good for us as Charlton LOST 3 points, and it pegs them back a bit. With ourselves, Bournemouth and Brighton in the hunt for promotion, it's hard luck on the west country sides; B. Rovers, Yeovil, Swindon and Plymouth as they all seem to be in trouble. Rochdale is a good game to have postponed. At best, the pitch would have been a mud heap and who knows what may have happened. If we play it later in the Spring on a dry pitch, we'll have a better chance of playing a passing game.
hutch Posted 20 February, 2011 Share Posted 20 February, 2011 And probably have Morgan back in the side, and Lallana fully match fit

Looking at Bournemouths fixtures, after us, they have Carlisle (a), Charlton (h), then Peterbrough (a) then what appears to be a reasonable run in, so those 4 games could really have an impact on who finishes where. A really feisty win for us, with a couple of them sent off and an injury or two, would be about right in my book!!
Supersubpuckett Posted 20 February, 2011 Share Posted 20 February, 2011 I took my lad to the charlton game yesterday (local-ish side and £5 tickets) and they were awful, had nothing going forward - Exeter looked much more lively and played the better football. We shouldn't have anything to fear....
Graffito Posted 20 February, 2011 Share Posted 20 February, 2011 Reasonable set of results again. I just hope Saints' flaky performance away to Peterborough doesn't come back to haunt us.
saint_bert Posted 20 February, 2011 Share Posted 20 February, 2011 If we win our 3GIH we go 3 above Bournemouth. So if we do that the pressure is on them imo to beat us in the away game down there.

I think a draw against Cherries and Brighton and 4 points against Charlton should be plenty provided we average two points across our other matches. Lighthouse Posted 20 February, 2011 Share Posted 20 February, 2011 I've been confident this entire year but the Cherries game is a real worry to me, they look nigh unbeatable at the moment and I'm seriously worried about them nicking second. We said that when we went to Reading a couple of years ago. We were in the bottom 3 and they had won 8 out of 8 at home. Records are there to be broken, few would have given Brentford a chance at SMS. Someone will win at Brighton and Bompey eventually.
