Griffo Posted 19 February, 2011 Posted 19 February, 2011 Another weekend without football, may as well look forward to Tuesday now! Due a fair bit of rain up there, what are the chances of that being off? Would be extremely ****ed off if it was.

Heavy rain/sleet forecast for Hartlepool all day today but Sunday/Monday/Tuesday looking dry.
fanimal Posted 19 February, 2011 Posted 19 February, 2011 This is a bit like the King is dead, long live the King!!
Griffo Posted 19 February, 2011 Author Posted 19 February, 2011 I like to do these threads :-( Sorry, I'll try not to in future!
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 19 February, 2011 Posted 19 February, 2011 I really really hope it's not called off.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 19 February, 2011 Posted 19 February, 2011 http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2369?&search=hartlepool&itemsPerPage=10®ion=uk Should be on.
dingbattigger Posted 19 February, 2011 Posted 19 February, 2011 Hope it's on. Arranged to take the kids and booked an overnight stay
saintchrissy Posted 19 February, 2011 Posted 19 February, 2011 just got to St marys and exchanged my rochdale tickets for Hartlepool. Son and going but taking lap top to check on status of pitch and book hotel last minute
fanimal Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 Their pitch looked very good on the TV highlights, plenty of grass, or is that just the lower level camera view?
Saint_clark Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 Their pitch looked very good on the TV highlights, plenty of grass, or is that just the lower level camera view? There was moss growing on the camera lens.
SNSUN Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 Meh, Lallana has had an extra 4 days to get fit after injury, should be a walk in the park. 3-1 Saints, Lambert to open the scoring on 12 minutes with a penalty, Guly to bang in a 30 yarder after 63 minutes, and Lallana to complete the rout on 69 minutes with a simple tap in following good work by Fonte. (Although there will be suspicions of offside.) Sweeney to score for them on 89, an undeserved consolation. MOTM Lallana.

bjk Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 Forgive my ignorance but is this one of our games in hand
HopperSaint Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 Praying this game is on after yesterday's debacle. Flying up from Southampton to Newcastle and doing an over-nighter so really looking forward to it! Hopefully the boys will be fresh, focused and ready to dig in for 3 points!
SNSUN Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 "I had a dream"? Extraordinary foresight! Nah, just getting the match report in early in case this game gets called off!
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 Forgive my ignorance but is this one of our games in hand Although it is a rearranged game, there are 8 games on Tuesday night, including all of the teams above us. Tuesday, 22 February 2011 Bournemouth v Sheff Wed, 19:45 Brentford v Tranmere, 19:45 Brighton v Plymouth, 19:45 Carlisle v Exeter, 19:45 Dag & Red v Huddersfield, 19:45 Hartlepool v Southampton, 19:45 MK Dons v Oldham, 19:45 Peterborough v Colchester, 19:45
THEVMAN Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 Gone are the days when you used to bail out the 6yd box and still play a game.
Window Cleaner Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 heard the game is in alot of doubt! For what reason?? The pitch looks pretty good from the highlights of yesterday's game.
Gemmel Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 For what reason?? The pitch looks pretty good from the highlights of yesterday's game. Snow
yorkie Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 Snow It is true temperatures have dropped - but I don't think snow is on the cards in Hartlepool this week! I am expecting more rain - but I think snow in Hartlepool is rare as it is on the coast! Still will know more around 5pm on Tuesday night when I set off from York!
Dr Who? Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 Even though it has been a good week without us playing I am still a little bit worries about the set of fixtures coming up on Tuesday, and the fact that Hartlepool beat Charlton yesterday. I think that Brighton, Bournemouth, Huddersfield, Peterborough, and MK Dons will ALL win on Tuesday, thus meaning we really need to to win. IF we can also win and then on Saturday I think we will make up some ground on some at the top. I think Bouremouth will win, but Brighton have a tricky trip to MK.
Dr Who? Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 weather looking good at the moment..... but knowing the BBC it will all change come the day! http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2369?&search=hartlepool&itemsPerPage=10®ion=world
Roger Posted 20 February, 2011 Posted 20 February, 2011 If fit: Davis, Butterfield, Jaidi, Fonte, Dickson, OXC,Morgan, Chaplow,Lallana, Ricky, Barnard. Subs;New goalie, Guly, Connolly, Martin, Harding, Nguessan. Think gulys better than barnard but has been a bit off recently and just have an inkling.

That's the starting line up I expect to see, except Harding will start in place of Dickson imo

He has been fantastic for us in the last few weeks
CWD Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 You would drop Hammond from the squad entirely? He has been fantastic for us in the last few weeks Oops didn't see that Roger had started Morgan. Hammond and Chaplow will start Imo
Matthew Le God Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 You would drop Hammond from the squad entirely? Roger has only listed six subs.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Must win game. That's all I will say on the matter.
SNSUN Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Roger has only listed six subs. Forte should be there...
torsaint Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Mother in law confirmed yesterday there was no snow in Hartlepool so I think the game is on. Have the team stayed in the North?
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 iPhone weather App is showing a symbol that looks suspiciously like snow for today. Will be mega p!ssed off if it gets called off tomorrow as I'll probably already be up there.
Roger Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Roger has only listed six subs. No sorry forgot to put hammond on the bench. Thin has a place in team sometimes. I trust manager.
eurosaint Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Just checked my 'Oop North Grimometer' and although grim, the level of grimness should not endanger the game ! Match prediction - Saints win, performance - grim !
Bourno Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 I emailed Hartlepool today to ask if the game was in any danger of being postponed. Here is their response. Good Morning We are in receipt of your recent email regarding the above. Please be advised we do not anticipate any problems for our game tomorrow, we have not had any snow and it is a dry day today. Best Regards For and on behalf of Hartlepool United FC Miss Kate Harnish ASSISTANT CLUB SECRETARY
Snopper Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 I see the referee for the Hartlepool game is Scott Mathieson, who refereed the JPT Final at Wembley. Thought he was excellent then - hope he`s as good tomorrow night.
Roger Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Think the flcould have made sure we had a close away game as its half term. Dont understand them some times. Kids could have gpne if it was say a yeovil or bristol rovers or brentford.

Its a rearranged match was originally going to be on the 4th December so not sure how the FL could have made sure it was a close away game.
Footballfan Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Its a rearranged match was originally going to be on the 4th December so not sure how the FL could have made sure it was a close away game. I am taking my son as it is half term, he would not have gone other wise, so one happy son (if we win)
Saint Garrett Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Decided on a late decision to go, I hope they make it worthwhile !
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Although it is a rearranged game, there are 8 games on Tuesday night, including all of the teams above us. Tuesday, 22 February 2011 Bournemouth v Sheff Wed, 19:45 Brentford v Tranmere, 19:45 Brighton v Plymouth, 19:45 Carlisle v Exeter, 19:45 Dag & Red v Huddersfield, 19:45 Hartlepool v Southampton, 19:45 MK Dons v Oldham, 19:45 Peterborough v Colchester, 19:45 FFS yet again all our rivals have shoo ins and we have a tough away game. Need to win.
yorkie Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Football being football - SWFC could well turn over Bournemouth - this game has upset written all over it!Not worried about Huddersfield result - but could do with Colchester and Peterborough drawing or even a Colchester win! None of this matters of course as IF we win tomorrow - we did our bit!
Lighthouse Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Away wins all round would be nice looking at that fixture list (Udders aside). Owls, Daggers and Us will be tough fixtures, even if Plymouth wont be. I'd say we have one of the easier ties actually. I will be optimistic and predict a Saints win and Posh and Bompey drop points. I'd play: Davis Butters - Fonte - Martin - Harding Guess - Hammond - Chaplow - Lallana Lambert - Barnard Subs: Arsenal chap, Jaidi, Dickson, Morgan, Guly, Forte, AOC

ozzyman Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 You would rather play Nguessan than chamberlain???
SaintNeil90 Posted 21 February, 2011 Posted 21 February, 2011 Nguessan had a shocker against Carlisle Every players has off games.
