swannymere Posted 14 October, 2008 Posted 14 October, 2008 No need to thank me http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/6535061/James-Bond-Complete-Collection-Box-Set/Product.html
Ponty Posted 14 October, 2008 Posted 14 October, 2008 £9.99! I'm not paying that when the cover of Casino Royale doesn't even match!
Johnny Shearer Posted 14 October, 2008 Posted 14 October, 2008 £9.99! I'm not paying that when the cover of Casino Royale doesn't even match! But surely that will make it a collector's item in the years to come. Think I may buy it and never open it up. As surely they'd produce a new set with matching DVD covers?!
swannymere Posted 14 October, 2008 Author Posted 14 October, 2008 People will think you've splashed the cash if you give them this for Christmas.
saint_stevo Posted 14 October, 2008 Posted 14 October, 2008 i have ordered one, pretty sure they will cancel it once they realise tho
Robsk II Posted 14 October, 2008 Posted 14 October, 2008 I have as well. £9.99 is absurd, and brilliant.

As surely they'd produce a new set with matching DVD covers?! If you don't open it you'll never be sure it's the different cover edition... It's all a bit Schrodinger's cat tbh.
scott_saints Posted 15 October, 2008 Posted 15 October, 2008 Ordered 2, but It's almost a certainty that this will get cancelled!
Johnny Shearer Posted 15 October, 2008 Posted 15 October, 2008 If you guys had ordered it at £9.99, will Play actually honour it? If they do, I'm going to feel like a right numpty as I had the chance too buy the boxset at that price last night. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Scummer Posted 15 October, 2008 Posted 15 October, 2008 Surely if you have already made payment and it has gone through their system then they are obliged to honour it? Just a guess. That's why they don't take the payment straight away.
Ponty Posted 15 October, 2008 Posted 15 October, 2008 No obligation to honour the incorrect price chaps. There was a precedent set a few years ago when Argos (I believe) made a similar faux pas.
Badger Posted 15 October, 2008 Posted 15 October, 2008 No obligation to honour the incorrect price chaps. There was a precedent set a few years ago when Argos (I believe) made a similar faux pas. Interestingly though, if this were in the High Street many stores might honour the 'incorrect' price.
Ponty Posted 16 October, 2008 Posted 16 October, 2008 Interestingly though, if this were in the High Street many stores might honour the 'incorrect' price. They might, as a goodwill gesture, to a single opportunistic customer. They can also be fined £2000 per item for incorrectly marked goods. However, the very fact that news of this sort of mistake spreads like wildfire on the 'net and can cost a company hundreds of thousands, all over a typo or mis-inputted figure, is why the rules are different.
