That's the cost of a match ticket FFS. Obviously we all want to get back into the PL and move forwards hopefully into the CL, but if prices have doubled in 2 years and now cost a neutral 176 Quid for a football match, what will they be like in 3 or 4 years time? Greedy stinking rip off merchants at the top of football "non-leadership: pyramid IMHO
trousers Posted 18 February, 2011 Share Posted 18 February, 2011 I'm not against neutral tickets being flogged at 'market prices' as they will be gobbled up by corporates whether they were set at £10 or £1000 each. I do however think £80 for fans of the two finalists is over the top. That said, perhaps the mega rich clubs who reach the final will step in and subsidise the cost of a ticket for their fans....? Oink, oink. Flap, flap....

Oink, oink. Flap, flap.... Yeah but as the article says the CHEAPEST tickets for fans are 80 quid and it doesn't say how many of those will be available. Looks like the only fans that would go if an English club get through would be Bankers and Middle Management Council workers.

Looks like the only fans that would go if an English club get through would be Bankers and Middle Management Council workers. It would cost the clubs involved a paltry c.£1m to subsidise/cash-back the ticket prices down to a more reasonable level if they cared about their fans.... Kenilworthy Posted 18 February, 2011 Share Posted 18 February, 2011 The problem is that they won't have any difficulty selling tickets at those prices. After all, many Saints fans were happy to pay £50 for the JPT final. And to put it in context, we are paying £25 a ticket for some League One games this season. As long as mugs like us keep handing over the cash then the clubs will keep charging. The relative cost of tickets for football compared with other forms of entertainment is astonishing - even the best seats in cinemas (outside London that is) are still less than £10. Hatch Posted 18 February, 2011 Share Posted 18 February, 2011 The clubs should be given their allocation, and allowed to sell at whatever price they choose.

Kingsland Codger Posted 20 February, 2011 Share Posted 20 February, 2011 Wjilst I realise the event is being run by UEFA, since it is being held in London couldn't the Office of Fair Trading have a view on a £26 admin fee? It can't be legal to charge such an outrageous amount in this country ... or can it?
