Hatch Posted 16 February, 2011 Share Posted 16 February, 2011 Bolton beat Wigan 1-0. In front of 7,500 poor sods.
Rory Posted 16 February, 2011 Share Posted 16 February, 2011 Wouldn't call that a deserved victory for Arsenal...outclassed by Barca for the lion's share of the game. Valdes should've had his post covered for the first and the marking was poor for the second. Never mind, Arsenal are going to get trashed at the Nou Camp! Sky Sports are on the phone, they want you as a pundit.
SuperMikey Posted 16 February, 2011 Share Posted 16 February, 2011 Sky Sports are on the phone, they want you as a pundit. I have a right to be indignant about the result, watched the game in a bar full of people from the West Country who were all Arsenal fans!
Papa Shango Posted 16 February, 2011 Share Posted 16 February, 2011 Believe it or Barcelona have never won an away knock out tie in the Champions League since Pep became manager. Thought Arsenal would get at least a draw before the game tonight, although I expect Barca to just about sneak through.
Papa Shango Posted 16 February, 2011 Share Posted 16 February, 2011 Just noticed Wigan are playing Bolton in the FA Cup, why are ITV showing this rubbish instead of that potential classsic. It's 0-0 there at half time by the way. Literally had no idea this game was even on until I saw this thread. Haven't seen one mention of it on Twitter, where even S****horpe vs. Forest was touched on by the odd person. A bumper crowd at the DW I see, 7,515. Was also shocked to hear that Guardiola is their 4th longest serving manager in their history. Mental. What is also mental is the fact that Messi didn't get at least two goals tonight. I think Aresenal can count themselves very lucky indeed. There was nothing wrong with the disallowed Messi header and Barca should arguably have had a penalty when Arshavin headed it onto his arm. Good game though. Very impressed with Wilshire.

Because that substitution seemed odd to me and handed the advantage to Arsenal.

I live in the west country and everyone here supports Liverpool and Arsenal and, as much as it angers me, I don't let that cloud my judgement over a good performance. Barcelona will always have more posession of the football apparantly at the weekend they had 82%! They are a class apart but to beat teams like that you need to defend well, have a bit of luck and resiliance as you wont beat them by playing football. I though they did well and the second goal was superb, you can blame poor marking for that, they were taken apart by pace.
Papa Shango Posted 17 February, 2011 Share Posted 17 February, 2011 Possession is overrated anyway. Inter had less possession than most of the sides they played in the CL last season and they won the whole thing. They barely touched the ball in the 2nd leg at the Nou Camp last season.
