Dr Who? Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Without us even playing, what a fantastic night.... so far!!
itchen_dan Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Can't believe how far Wednesday have fallen! At the start of the season they were right up there and now seem to be really really struggling. Anyway, come on Hartlepool and orient!!
itchen_dan Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 On a side note, Ipswich winning 5-0 away at Donny! What a scoreline that is against the "Arsenal of the championship"
doddisalegend Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 results going well for us so far... Yes they are Oldham losing, Charlton losing, Dons losing and Peterbrough drawing all the chasing pack seem to be having a bad night. Wenesday losing again I think they're out of it for this season I was worried the takeover would give them a new lease of life but it hasn't. Sorry Peterbrough winning - bugger

OVER THE HILL Posted 15 February, 2011 Author Posted 15 February, 2011 Hartlepool 2-1 up Come on you monkey-hangers!
aintforever Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Charlton losing will be massive for us. We need Powell's honeymoon to end ASAP.
Dr Who? Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Do you think the Oldham fans are *****ing as much as we were on Saturday!!!
CWD Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Charlton losing is the big one for me. They were the team I felt could make a late surge for second, but now if we can take 4 points from them then they're out of it in my opinion
Jonnyboy Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Do you think the Oldham fans are *****ing as much as we were on Saturday!!! ?? erm
S-Clarke Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 FT - Charlton have lost what a great result that is.

Big goal threat and if they can sort the defence out...
Nexstar Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Great night for us, win our games in hand and we go back to second.
Saint Charlie Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Got to be considered a very good night for us. Peterborough won, fair enough but they leak goals and we have a game in hand on them. Let just get a win on Sat to cement our position. Need 4 points minimum from these two aways. Absolute minimum.
Appy Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Peterborough worry me. Big goal threat and if they can sort the defence out... Massive IF. They won't.
Toomer Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 All in all not a bad night only Posh win the rest lose, with a bit of luck Bompey will have to play Gas when they are on the up.
S-Clarke Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Peterborough worry me. Big goal threat and if they can sort the defence out... I think they're a bit too inconsistent though. One week they'll win 1-0, next it'll be a 6-4 defeat or something random like that. I think they are always likely to concede sloppy goals which will pull them short of the autos IMO.
TopGun Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Overall that's a good night at the office without being there. No one behind us has games in hands to overtake us and we can use our games in hand to still be in an auto promotion spot. Bournemouth will also have to fit their postponed game in somewhere also.
benjii Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Lovely stuff. Surprised to hear the Bournemouth match was called off. It is rainy in Bristol but it's hardly been torrential today. Bit of a poor effort not to get it on and you have to feel that Rovers' best chance would be on a crappy muddy pitch.

Have to agree with all that. Peterbrough winning is the only downside, but given the choice at the start of the night, I'd have bitten your hand off for those results. Nice that Bournemouths game was called off late enough for them to have travelled there only to not play, too.

Agreed, hopefully they get a bit of cramp and some of them have the ****s on the coach and it's a really unpleasant journey back. Mind you, Bournemouth to Bristol is a ****e journey in a coach at the best of times.
Kevtherev Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 results going well for us so far... Have gone well, but we are going to have to play well away from home when we play against Brighton, Bournemouth, Charlton, Leyton Orient, and Rochdale as all playing well. Glad Ballmouth game PP tonight as looks better still only 5 points behind and they have Uddersfield on Sat at Dean Court.

Apparently they played rugger on it not long ago so it was looking like a cow field anyway.
bender Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Peterborough worry me. Big goal threat and if they can sort the defence out... If Posh are a threat then we are certs for promotion. We showed we are far the better than them 10 days ago. They had more fight than us in the end but we were far the better team technically. They were delighted with the draw and they were the home team.
Torrent Of Abuse Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Good results all round. Only the P'Boro result went against us. It just goes to show, though, how tough the game against Rochdale will be and how important it is to win it. Glad the Bournemouth game was called off. I think it would have been a big psychological boost for them to win it and go level with Brighton on points. It might also have spurred on Brighton. The last thing we want is those two leaving the pack behind. Instead they may well have to play midweek in an already packed schedule. Here's hoping. Would be good to see us open up a gap beneath us, though. The top 4 look streets ahead of the rest of the division in terms of goal difference. Maybe a point gap will open up too?
dune Posted 15 February, 2011 Posted 15 February, 2011 Ill probably be wrong but I think we've got the beating of Bournemouth
NorthamSteve Posted 16 February, 2011 Posted 16 February, 2011 Ill probably be wrong but I think we've got the beating of Bournemouth That's a very original way to sit on the fence there dune, well done!
eurosaint Posted 16 February, 2011 Posted 16 February, 2011 (edited) It is now statisically back in our own hands so we need to step up to the plate ! Nigel 'talks the talk' so now he must 'walk the walk' as obviously, so do the players ! With (theoretically at least!) the strongest squad in the league there can be no excuses any more ! The prize is there for the taking, now let's go and grasp it ! (too many cliches, I know, but you get the point?). Edited 16 February, 2011 by eurosaint Spelling !
sandwichsaint Posted 16 February, 2011 Posted 16 February, 2011 Great set of results, shows how important our scrappy 1-0 win on Saturday was tho half the posters on here seemed to think at the time that was a 'bad result'. There will be no more 'bad wins' between here and the season's end - only 'wins' (and hopefully plenty of them)!
torsaint Posted 16 February, 2011 Posted 16 February, 2011 There will be plenty of ups and downs on this roller-coaster of a ride towards the finishing line. With best wishes to eurosaint - run out of cliches.
dellboypete Posted 16 February, 2011 Posted 16 February, 2011 Hartlepool beating Charlton shows that next tuesday's game is going to be a tough one for us as Charlton have been doing pretty well lately. Massive crowd of 2,289 so I guess not many away fans there, unlike next week!!
