minime Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 interesting reading the comments on here about the dalton crawley stadium design...it was just an quick design exercise which was part of a wide range thoughts on how to move southampton as a city forward, i know this as i was responsible for this. i am born and bred in southampton have seen what happens when you have a quick fix when the city fathers rebuilt the city after the war..... we have not been paid for this or commisioned for any of it, but i can say that it has involved a lot of new thoughts in southampton city planning department. I did have a look at the impact of placing a stadium the size of the emirates in the shamrock quay area...may be i should show you sometime, but back to the quick proposals for the stadium (which i know saints have seen ) you may have noticed that either side of the main entrance, large projections have been placed these were added to provide for access to the seating area above the corp boxes but also provide a girder type base for the new seating...this was also used a the basis for the kingsland too. the company is now called carlton design partnership and we are working with the future southampton group on a whole host of things which we hope in time with help change southampton steve d

st alex Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 Don't they have a rather inconveniently located railway line behind it? The Aviva and Croke Park are both cursed with a lack of suufienct space and a tiny end stand, although I think the Aviva has a train station in the stadium.
