Red&White Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 I heard mildly racist stuff yesterday about Guly, I've questioned people before when I know who has said it, time for people to make a stand and remind the yoof club rejects that you can't get away with it. Report it if it happens at the next home game, shut these idiots up. The Northam isn't full of mongs, it just includes a vocal minority who need educating. Even still, I hate that chant and I always say "Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh YOUR SH*T! AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!". I am always on my own though, and the keeper is never fat. Always amuses me football fans shouting that. Most of our fans are fat slobs who've never been inside a gym their whole life. I also think we should change to singing the following: "It's all Southampton, all Southampton FC, we're comfortably in the top 500 teams, the world has ever seen" and instead of OWTSGMI: "Oh when the Southampton players go jogging onto the pitch and sometimes win a game, I want to be part of their fanbase and cheer loudly, when the Southampton players go running on the pitch" (that one might need a bit of slight alteration)

for_heaven's_Saint Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 The last thing we need is the politically correct police at a football match! Football matches are not rallies for the nannie state - they are havens for passion, opinion and humour and in your cases tolerance. I would suggest, if you are very easily offended then it's best to avoid football matches all together and go and find some people to 'report' in some high crime and violence inner city area where it might do some good to society. Alternatively you could try the family section of course ! haha I need tolerance because I have a problem with racism? Do you not see the irony in what you've said? doddisalegend Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 I know what you mean. I am surrounded by morons who seem to be very angry and do not accept footballers making any mistakes! Most seem more interested in being critics than fans. Although it is not restricted to the Northam. You can clearly hear the frustration from all sides of the ground when a mistake or mis-placed pass is made - it is just that the Northam is more audible. Never mind about creating a Kop - how about somewhere that fans with more than one brain cell can go to stand and sing (at proper speed) and support the team? Who gets to decide who these super fans are then? Particularly if this forum is anything to go by it would seem the most saints fans consider most other saints fans to in fact be morons......... JRM Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 But block 43 wasn't open when they were issued the linked tickets. Exactly mate, I really used to like standing in block 42, went over the the Itchen North for a bit when that was open, but back in the Northam now and it really sank to a new low on saturday, the majority of songs that originate from the back of the block are completely sh*t, but the ones directed at block 43 were dreadful and completely weird. Why sing about saints fans who had only turned up and paid in the last day or so, for a game like Carlisle at home, what a bizarre thing to do, I turned around when they started singing sit down if your here each week and it looked f*cking embarrassing, I made the point to keep standing and as sour mash said above not many faces i recognise from away days there, and doubt i'll see many at Rochdale or Hartlepool. I sat in The Archers at The Dell which was the most vocal part of the ground, some morons sat there too. shock horror! I've sat in every stand for at least one season and the Northam are the only ones to get behind the team in a vocal way. If you dont like what they chant, start chants yourself or move somewhere else and chant what you like. Seems like there's a group doing just that at the top of the Kingsland north. The Northam may well get behind the team (when they're not slagging players off) in a vocal way, but the songs they sing are monotonous and make me cringe. Singing Red n White all game is their limit. In the old days we had variety. That said i've noticed that they've invented the Cortese song.[ Edited 14 February, 2011 by dune

Golden Balls Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 there is a reason we have the best away record in the league but the a not so great home record... I would say that reason is down to teams 'uping' thier game in the big stadium, as well as putting 10 men behind the ball. Nothing to do with 10-15 idiots at the back of block 42 that can't be heard on the pitch.
