ulstersaint Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 Some new arrivals start off poor and stay poor players for Saints - J Wright, Belmadi, Davenport, Molyneaux, Neil McCann, Ryan Smith. Some new arrivals start off poor and get better - Antonio, Guly, Butterfield as recent examples. Give the new lad time and give him a break. benjii Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 N'Gessen. Some of you lot were a disgrace today cheering when he was taken off. He didn't have the best of games but was our best player at Exter midweek. SOme of you should be ashamed of yourselves cheering a new player being substitued, that'll do his confidence the world of good you complete and utter bellends. The lack of footballing knowledge in our fan base never ceases to amaze me. On another note, the resemablance to him and Antonio is uncanny, quick, strong but technically not that great, one because a footballing god when he left the other gets cheered when substituted. whats the difference? By the way, nutshell.

Papa Shango Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 very over-rated imo No way! One of my favourite ever players. Would have played at a really high level if he wasn't so injury prone.
broncoboy Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 This comment alone shows how much attention you were paying to the game. Enough to make your mind up on N'Guessan but apparently not enough to notice that Lallana was on for 35 minutes before N'Guessan came off. Always a smart arse

FF got slated for his crop circles, Belmadi did the same yet he is class! In his defence I will concede that he didnt play that much to really judge but he often went missing from games, especially after getting a whack in the first few mins. You cant deny he was a very good and intellegent footballer, prehaps i should rephrase it and say he was class at CCC level. I didn't slate FF, i rated him as well. Is a shame we didnt have more to judge him on

chrisobee Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 It was a reaction that left me cringing. We have some complete mongs as fans, they're probably the same that shout '''WHOOOO'' whenever the oppo. bring on a sub. It's boring now. It's been boring for the last 40+ years to be honest ! In a minute I'll wake up but I totally agree with Turkish
Raven on the wing Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 I thought Dany Ng was having such a bad game that NA couldnot sub him earlier as he could have been scarred mentally. He literally did not make a pass.He surely would have expected a bad reaction from the fans at whatever club he played. He is not a kid however and should be doubly determined to show us what he can do.

dune Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 belmadi had skill and could create something... good player for us Yes he was. Best player we had in our st marys era was Chris Marsden though. He wasn't that good but he was comitted and he had the ability to get all the other players playing. As soon as he left the decline started. I think with lee barnard we have a vaguely similar character, but Marsden was special and he would have been perfectly fine in any prem team in his day for the qualities he instilled in others. St Matty Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 No good booing a player if it,s not happening for him. If he wears the shirt, we should all be 100% behind them. Rant over x Agreed - as do probably 80% of the fans - unfortunately the idiots are louder than the silent majority.

Mattio Posted 16 February, 2011 Share Posted 16 February, 2011 I don't normally have a go at our players but I must admit I did go a bit mad when he blased that shot over, which I think shocked the teenagers who didn't seem to even know what was going on sat in front of me. I didn't boo/cheer him off though, no point in it.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 16 February, 2011 Share Posted 16 February, 2011 Surely the point is that Dany N'G was applauded off as a sign of approval that NA had finally woken up to the fact that he was not performing atall well and he needed to be subbed? I think that is more understandable than booing one of your own players, but can be interpreted wrongly by many. I was pleased to see him subbed, but didn't vocalise this - it's called self-restraint I think. (;
