He has taken longer to get to 50 than Big Ron did, yet he has only been with us for 1.5 seasons!!! Just goes to show how good Ron was in his day, not forgetting he did it in the top division as well. Still well done Ricky, 14 goals this season is still looking a healthy return, 5 in 3 games.

up and away Posted 13 February, 2011 Posted 13 February, 2011 Ricky Lamberts form will be the deciding factor for an automatic promotion spot IMHO. He has been a disappointment for what we actually needed this season, his ability to influence a game has been limited. His scoring from open play and free kicks for the first half of the season has been extremely poor and although scoring several penalties, you would only reasonably mark that up to a couple of goals different for another of our forwards. When you look at the difference in the results Ricky has provided at Exeter and at home to Carlisle, that is a difference that can give us automatic promotion. All the physical problems I identified with Ricky previously are fading away and if he keeps this up we should be well in. Go back over that first halve of the season and throw in a some exeter / carlisle contributions from Ricky and we could well be looking down on Brighton. We have not played well of late, but Ricky has provided more points than previously and that makes a very big difference.

West End Saint Posted 14 February, 2011 Posted 14 February, 2011 well done Lambo 50 goals in a season & a half is a great return nice to see him finding the net again not that long ago a few were questioning if he would get into double figures it looks very likely that he will get 20 + which is a good return. I thought he was sluggish saturday but so was the rest of the team but he scored the goal that gave us the points if he keeps scoring we will stay right in the mix.
