benjii Posted 11 February, 2011 Share Posted 11 February, 2011 We should get him involved in the support staff for the away match to Brighton. Should put the willies up Poyet.
benjii Posted 11 February, 2011 Share Posted 11 February, 2011 Cracking game. Remember that too. 4-2' date=' IIRC.[/quote'] Aye, Ostenstad got a couple? Maybe a 'trick? I was quite young and remember being genuinely surprised, when visiting the locale, that East Enders wasn't that far fetched.
cellone Posted 11 February, 2011 Share Posted 11 February, 2011 First time I saw him, he came on and ripped a 'new hole' so to speak in the opposition. After that he seemed to disappear up his own.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 11 February, 2011 Share Posted 11 February, 2011 Got a couple deffo. Didn't Carlton Palmer score too? Gibbens and Palmer ran the midfield.

cellone Posted 11 February, 2011 Share Posted 11 February, 2011 I preferred Johan Fully. pmsl. The worst thing is I have always called him Leandrel. I even worried if should be al or el at the end. What is even worse is I gobbed off to a southern Mc unted mate that the next Renaldoh was playing for Saints.

The9 Posted 11 February, 2011 Share Posted 11 February, 2011 His alter ego "Leandre Griffit"'s moment of fame was coming on at half time against Watford in that dismal League Cup defeat. 1-0 down at half time, we proceeded to ship another 4, though he did have one good run at one point when we were scoring one of our 2 consolations. Weirdly he actually scored 2 league goals for Saints in his 7 league appearances (2 starts). Anyone know he played 6 matches for Palace after we released him ? And one sub appearance for Leeds, and one sub and one start for Rotherham - both whilst he was on loan away from Saints ? I love Soccerbase... I think his attitude may have been adversely affected by Fabrice Fernandes' mistakes.

Pat from Poole Posted 11 February, 2011 Share Posted 11 February, 2011 I couldn't believe how good Palmer was for us. I thought he would be proper turd. He did go from hero to zero pretty quick, mind. But admittedly an inspired signing by Jones for the season that he was good.

Pat from Poole Posted 11 February, 2011 Share Posted 11 February, 2011 **** me. This is not hyperbole; he is a genuine contender for our worst ever player IMO. This is undisputed fact, and makes me really wonder about Dave Jones, given that he signed him for two clubs. A genuinely shockingly inept "footballer". Saintandy666 Posted 11 February, 2011 Share Posted 11 February, 2011 Sometimes he just left the ball behind, but other times he produced sheer brilliance. A hell of a lot of skill. Loved it. Wonder what he is up to these days.
Big Bad Bob Posted 12 February, 2011 Share Posted 12 February, 2011 What a player he was. Severly underused by the Saints for whatever reason. He had it all, pace, trickery, curly blond hair, flapping arms whenever he wanted to do a trick. Didn't live up to his full potential with us unfortunately. John Boy Saint Posted 12 February, 2011 Share Posted 12 February, 2011 Cul-de-Sac or Crop Circles Fernandes. He was one of those skilful but frustrating players with a bit of an attitude (ignoring WGS at the Cup Final). When Lee Hoos was with us he told a story about the stubbornness of Fabrice while he was at Fulham. The Fulham team bus was stuck in traffic on an away trip after about an hour most of the team had worked out that the Hotel was just round the corner so decided to walk and let the bus and their stuff catch up later. Everyone got off the bus except Fabrice who refused to get off and walk because walking was beneath him and the bus was there to take him to the hotel. 2 hours later the bus and him got to the hotel as the rest of the team were finishing dinner. Turkish Posted 12 February, 2011 Share Posted 12 February, 2011 "two hearts" greatest and only contribution was coming on at 3-0 up at half time away at Tranmere in the FA Cup, not touching the ball and losing the game 3-4, surely no other player can have had such a detrimental impact on a game? I hope you prove me wrong.....

The9 Posted 12 February, 2011 Share Posted 12 February, 2011 This "combined" thread is absolutely hideous to read now. It is nigh-on impossible to work out who anyone is discussing. Great idea, wild-saint and whichever mod actioned it. :s And as for "Posted it twice" about Kosowski/that cnvt Nilsson - I had lost my connection and it took so long to post I even passed the "double-post" expiry time.
