St Landrew Posted 13 October, 2008 Share Posted 13 October, 2008 Mine's non-existent. I was sent a text message by a mate sailing around the Greek Islands. He asked me the meaning of Oikey [his spelling], which I think is NO; and Mano, which I have no idea, other than what it might be in Italian or Spanish, etc... Anyone have any idea..? Online Greek dictionaries are obviously in the Greek alphabet, which doesn't help much.
bridge too far Posted 13 October, 2008 Share Posted 13 October, 2008 Ochi does mean 'no' and perversely 'ne' means 'yes'! Mano means 'hand'. HTH

Ponty Posted 13 October, 2008 Share Posted 13 October, 2008 The only Greek word I know is malaka but that won't get him very far.
