Saint in Paradise Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 I think that Mr Adkins is very brave playing KD and thereby thinking that KD will save his job. Perhaps he needs a quiet reminder that IF Saints don't get promoted he will be gone. We all know that a Football contract means not a lot. IF Mr Adkins thinks that Bart isn't good enough to replace KD WHY didn't he get another keeper in January ?? Tick Tock Mr Adkins you are relying on one man to save you. The other 10 are good enough and play good Football but they won't be always able to make up for the last line of defence person. Good Luck, you are going to need it. . Roger Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 They're a good side, we shouldn't be ''beating sides like that''. A win would have been a fantastic result and it should have been a win. But to say we should be beating sides like that is stupid, wake up to the level we are at and the teams we are up against to get promotion. Peterborough are one of them. We were v poor today. That's made me realise that seaborne is not up to it and neither of our leftbacks are good enough. Without morgan we have no one to pass the ball. Hammond giving away freekick at the end was just awful and seaborne giving away penalty WTF??

What does it mean in the big picture..? Nothing much... still shed loads of games to play and win.. if we go on another winning streak then this game will just be one for the stats...... no need to panic... dont just look at the results but at the blossomimg of Chaplow, Chambo, Spider... and the potential of N'Guessen and Forte... nah... fed up tonigvht even thpogh we got a draw away, but thats only natural having lead twice!!! almost 20 games left.... ottery st mary Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 At this rate we will be very lucky to stay with the teams around us.... Defenitely need a good 3 points home to Carlisle.. No point in blaming various players... Chamberlain once again should have gone off same time as Guly.... Midfielder required in last 10 and Guess who not Fort.. at that stage.. Formation/set up of team at various times in the game... Nigel still making far too many tactical and sub mistakes.. Step it up Saints....Come on Nigel your as bad as the forum coach..derry boy.. Deppo Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 All that happened today is we saw how we go to pieces against fast, attacking sides with a lot of determination. We should have tried to control the game, especially when we were 2 goals up both times. Instead we panicked and that created a lot of mistakes for Peterborough to take advantage of. If we'd played it around a bit more and controlled the pace it would have been Peterborough panicking.
teamsaint Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 in the cold light of day, this will be a difficult away game out of the way with no real damage done. Lets just hope we can keep scoring. But its all too clear that we have defensive frailties.Far too many silly freekicks conceded. Big run of wins neede from some very winnable fixtures coming up... up and away Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 You can't put Jaidi in against a team like Posh at home. Seaborne deserves to be dropped and I would rather have Martin in there. Kelvin goes from bad to good like a pmt possessed in a shoe sale. I can't believe how easy things looked until we gave away the first goal, it just was so nicely comfortable with a 2 goal lead until we gave them something to go after. Seaborne far too many errors, same with Kelvin. Just who do you have to screw over to get dropped?

Whitey Grandad Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 If we had come back twice from 2-0 down we'd all be buzzing, but it's the same result. The defence was very poor and there was very little composure anywhere. At no time did I really feel confident that we could hold out. Oh well, at least we stopped them from picking up three points. alpine_saint Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 But you said bournemouth were out of sight earlier. Surely you're not just being a ***** again? As for the leads, they didn't even feel like two goal leads in that game, it's the way Peterborough play. You knew there'd be a hatful of goals and at 4-2 I though we needed another goal. As you say, you couldn't follow the game, so perhaps best not to describe it as poor? If you'd seen it, you'd have known a two goal lead either way in that game would be very fragile. Whatever makes you feel better tonight. Think about the anger management suggestion though.........

suewhistle Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 In fact he needs to look in front of the back 5, when you're 4-2 up away from home you need someone to put his foot on the ball and calm things down. Well, Morgan was missing today and I think we missed him (let alone Lallana). If we were after Mac-Smiffy it's obvious why now! Very disappointed we didn't hold on to the lead, but I'm not going to hang around here too long just for now as some of the posters depress me even more. In the context of 'boro's previous results it's not so surprising. I prefer to be positive about what a great advert that was for 3rd tier English football, but no doubt I'll be regarded as far too positive for some here... badgerx16 Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 Every week we fail to win 8-0 this board is plagued with the most miserable, pessimistic sods you could ever meet. IF we fail to make the play-offs as a minimum, IF we fail to win through to the final, and IF we don't make promotion after the last ball of the season has been kicked, then hold a post-mortem, but there are still 19 games to play. I'm not sure this was a Morgan game, I don't think he would have made a massive difference. Our midfield was pretty good I felt, but it was just a freak game. You get them I guess. The Flying Finn Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 Before the game I'd have taken a point, but that was 2 points dropped. Seaborne is not good enough. We need a new centre back to play with fonte. We also need a more commanding goalkeeper. Kelvin was glued to his line and kept us under so much pressure. Unless we go on another run of 6 wins on the trot, then I think we are fighting for second.
