St Chalet Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Here please. Great game for the neutral my arse, why can't we hold a lead?
S-Clarke Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Not good enough really, after being 2 up on 2 occasions. Totally and utterly deflated.
Ohio Saint Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Great game and a good result. Credit to both teams.
richard Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Incredible game. Peterborough are a good side, no shame getting a point at theirs.
Robsk II Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Can't we just talk about Tiote's goal today instead? A cracker.
saint lard Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 To give away a 2 goal lead once is pretty bad....to give one away twice is simply appalling.
Saint_Jonny Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 2 up twice and we still couldnt win. So ****ed off after watching that. Gutted.
alpine_saint Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 (edited) A 2-goal lead lost. Twice. That's poor. Couldnt follow the game, so dont know the reason for each goal, but NA needs to look at the back 5, it seems. Huddersfield & Charlton in the driving seat for 2nd place. Edited 5 February, 2011 by alpine_saint
benjii Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Shame not to win but no point being too dispondent.
Window Cleaner Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Here please. Great game for the neutral my arse, why can't we hold a lead? I guess because we keep going forward.Didn't see their 2nd penalty but our second looked very generous.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Our defence is just not solid enough to be consistent
SaintJackoInHurworth Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Poor refereeing decision cost us the points imo - no way that was handball at the end.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Incredible game. Peterborough are a good side, no shame getting a point at theirs. This. Although to draw after twice being 2 goals up is dissapointing, P'boro were always in it. A fantastic game and although i'm absolutely gutted, we went to P'boro who have won their last 5 games at London Road.
DG Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Deflated, dejected, you shouldn't score 4 goals and not win but maybe it was just one of those days. When it was 3-4 we did absolutely **** all other than hoof it to no one, the one goal lead just wasn't enough.
crouchi Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Just as generous for their's - looked like it hit under his armpit, ref got caught up in the excitement
badgerx16 Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Posh put 5 past Sheff Wed at home, 4 past Hatlepool, 5 past Oldham, 4 past Huddersfield, and have now scored 45 at home in the league this season. It was never going to be 0-0. Cracking game, just fits the pattern of the day.
alpine_saint Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Our defence is just not solid enough to be consistent Then we wont be promoted.
Window Cleaner Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 A 2-goal lead lost. Twice. That's poor. couldnt follow the game, so dont know the reason for each game, but NA needs to look at the back 5, it seems. Huddersfield & Charlton in the driving seat for 2nd place. In fact he needs to look in front of the back 5, when you're 4-2 up away from home you need someone to put his foot on the ball and calm things down.
Liquidshokk Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 I am mentally drained beyond belief. great game but so so disappointed with the draw. doesnt do us any favours after the way the day has gone
Deppo Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Great game and a good result. Credit to both teams. Agreed. Plus Mackail-Smith was excellent all game. Wish we'd signed him.
S-Clarke Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Poor refereeing decision cost us the points imo - no way that was handball at the end. and no way was our penalty a pen either. Shouldn't have been given. Rubbish referring for both teams. A draw is a fair result in the context, but so infuriating after putting oursevles in a great positon - twice FFS.
Cabrone Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 MoM for me was Chaplow, superb as usual. Why couldn't we hold the ball for the last 5 mins? Just run down the clock. Too many hoofballs to the front men which were hoovered up by Posh and sent straight back to us. Eventually we cracked, what a surprise. This is also going to sound funny being as we got 4 but Lambert and Barnard should have scored more, Lambert spends too much time on the wings for me and I didn't think they looked sharp enough. That said a draw at Pboro is still a reasonable return.
Chin Strain Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 A 2-goal lead lost. Twice. That's poor. Couldnt follow the game, so dont know the reason for each goal, but NA needs to look at the back 5, it seems. Huddersfield & Charlton in the driving seat for 2nd place. Yeah, because this far out there's a driving seat isn't there..... If it was the last 5 matches, fair enough, but we've got 20+ games to go FFS
St Chalet Posted 5 February, 2011 Author Posted 5 February, 2011 The ref gave 3x harsh penalties. 1 for us, 2 for them.
DT Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Could barely watch due to ineptitude of the keeper and tactical naivety of the manager. Why not change it when 2 up? Why play Davis? Why bring on Dickson (two players with very recent cock-ups to their name). Shocking pen decision at the end made me throw my computer against the wall. No chance of automatic with such weak links in the side.
Leicestersaint Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Very disappointing - poor poor defending and couldn't take control of the game and hold the ball - we lack the killer instinct. Conceding too many.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 That ball definately hit Chambo under the arm.
CWD Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 (edited) Disappointed but a fair result really. Seabourne was very poor tonight and Alex had a bad 2nd half Plenty of positives though, Hammond and Chappers were superb Edited 5 February, 2011 by CWD added some positivity!
call 99 Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Load of ******** we may have players too good for this league but that is equalled out by some that go missing to often
jampot Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 A point each was fair, their striker we were after would be a wellcome addition if we can get him in the summer....
badgerx16 Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 you shouldn't score 4 goals and not win Makes us as good as the Arse then.
Window Cleaner Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Agreed. Plus Mackail-Smith was excellent all game. Wish we'd signed him. so do I,you could make 10 Barnards from a Mackail Smith

This is also going to sound funny being as we got 4 but Lambert and Barnard should have scored more, Lambert spends too much time on the wings for me and I didn't think they looked sharp enough. That said a draw at Pboro is still a reasonable return. I thought Lambert was excellent today, back to his form of last season. Holding it up, winning the balls in the air, playing it in behind and scoring 2 quality penalties. Barnard was a little quieter, but it was his endeavour that made the first goal.
Saints foreva Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 **** result, should be beating sides like that. Sky curse strikes again. Will be surprised if we go up.
Roger Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Absolutely gutted! That's one of the worst and most stupid performances I've seen from saints. Obvious that seaborne should never play again, Harding prob too. Hammond was poor other than goal. Last 30 mins we were awful. Why the he'll did Hammond give free kick away. Why did jaidi not come on at half time when it was obvious that seaborne was terrible. Lambert was very good, we carried guly all game. Shocking. Good for the neutrals but not for promotion for me. We should have signed another leftback as dickson and Harding aren't good enough and seaborne should have been replaced. Very poor by manager today.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Could barely watch due to ineptitude of the keeper and tactical naivety of the manager. Why not change it when 2 up? Why play Davis? Why bring on Dickson (two players with very recent cock-ups to their name). Shocking pen decision at the end made me throw my computer against the wall. No chance of automatic with such weak links in the side. Because it was working. Duh! Because Harding was going to be sent off. Duh!
Window Cleaner Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Makes us as good as the Arse then. Arse were down to 10 with a DCM gone, makes a lot of difference.
Elmore Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 A 2-goal lead lost. Twice. That's poor. Couldnt follow the game, so dont know the reason for each goal, but NA needs to look at the back 5, it seems. Huddersfield & Charlton in the driving seat for 2nd place. For once I agree with Alpine. Poor show from a side who think they can win the title to lose a 2-goal lead away from home twice in one game. I personally have lowered my ambitions for this season to play-offs - no point in getting my hopes up as this side is too inconsistent and my poor old heart can't take it.
ribbo Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 very high tempo game, incredible to watch, boro never gave up and mikail-smith was outstanding, shame about the last min pen
saintscottofthenortham Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 **** result, should be beating sides like that. Sky curse strikes again. Will be surprised if we go up.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Squandering a two goal lead TWICE is a just not good enough... Really peed off....
rocknrollman no2 Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 I thought the commentators were very biased towards Posh. The ref was just looking for any excuse to give them another penalty.Still that said,we shouldve won that game with ease. Dont play Seabourne at the next game please.
S-Clarke Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 **** result, should be beating sides like that. Sky curse strikes again. Will be surprised if we go up. They're a good side, we shouldn't be ''beating sides like that''. A win would have been a fantastic result and it should have been a win. But to say we should be beating sides like that is stupid, wake up to the level we are at and the teams we are up against to get promotion. Peterborough are one of them.
Chin Strain Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 For once I agree with Alpine. Mate, don't be a bandit. 5 wins 2 draws and a defeat from the last 8.
Stu Man Do Posted 5 February, 2011 Posted 5 February, 2011 Arse were down to 10 with a DCM gone, makes a lot of difference. Least we didnt give away a 4 goal lead ;-)
