derry Posted 12 February, 2011 Share Posted 12 February, 2011 Collin looked like a good keeper today. Davis and Fonte nearly messed it up again a la Tranmere.
Trader Posted 12 February, 2011 Share Posted 12 February, 2011 People go on about Bart's kicking but he doesn't worry me as much as Davis. That hospital pass to Fonte - well Jose went down like he'd been shot in the head - I thought he was out for the season. Plus the crazy throw out to Harding? right across his area which put us into all sorts of trouble. FFS give Bart a go.
Bridge Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 Assessment of Davis for the Carlisle game. Not much to do ready, made a couple saves, kicking out ok. Did not dominate the box with the two or three corners Carlisle had, bad communication with Jose Fonte again and put all defenders under pressure when throwing the ball out. Cannot get the basic right.
Barry the Badger Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 I thought his distribution to full backs yesterday was excellent but the moment of miscommunication with Fonte was a worry.
Whitey Grandad Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 Painfully slow over his goal kicks in the first half. He took at least 10 seconds to take it even after all our players were in position. It stifles any momentum that we might have built up. He was much quicker second half, maybe Adkins had a word with him at half time?

Go and watch goals on sunday and see how many keepers go for crosses and makes a pig of it and goals are let in.

The sooner he is out of the team, the better. His present form is schizophrenic and his lapses may well add up to no promotion. It must be his off field influence certainly not his onfield performances that are keeping him in the team. As a goalkeeper Collin dominated his box and communicated well with his defence, shotstopped when he had to and had no chance with the goal. Along with half the keepers in the league far better all round than Davis.

Doesnt matter if we are 4 nil up or 4 nil down, sometimes kelvin is in his own little world with that ball at his feet.

I'm not surprised some are trying to blame Davis anyway though.

No he's not - antis simply have a far higher post count and the rest of us cannot be bothered cycling round the same old statements. PS Look at the polls if you think I am wrong. derry Posted 13 February, 2011 Share Posted 13 February, 2011 Tranmere, Exeter, Peterborough, a good keeper, you are having a laugh. We defend better at home and lot of his mistakes are away and cost us points. 10 away games left and Davis in goal in his present form could screw our promotion this season. chrisobee Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 Brian Clough stated that his Shilton was his most important appointment and that he started building his Championship side from this point onwards. Shilton even scored a goal, unfortunately it was against us !!

Trader Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 Shilton even scored a goal, unfortunately it was against us !! Yes, but wasn't he playing for Leicester then? I remember getting absolutely soaked that day - the kick must have hit the only hard spot on the pitch and it ballooned straight over Forsyth.
