What he said really. Although i'm sure we don't advocate the use of torrents on this forum. Just a note - keep stock on what you're downloading, as I downloaded 4 seasons of The Wire last week totalling around 30GB altogether, meaning I have no hard-drive space and am anticipating a nasty letter from my ISP at any moment!

I tend to avoid 'illegal' sites but my conscience is clear as far as terrestrial BBC programmes is concerned as it's free to air as there was nothing stopping me recording the show if I'd been in at the time. Cheers for the 'keep in view's

Probably doesnt considering the new allowance is 300gb

How new is that? They emailed me last month saying I'd downloaded 240GB and if it continued they would cut my speed! Said the same the previous month. I was kind of hoping it would continue as I did the same with o2 and they cancelled my contract. I get good speeds with BT (15MB) but its very inconsistent :( sometimes it drops down to 4MB. Fortunately when I signed up I insisted on a 12 month contract coz they were trying to put me on 24!

Anyone got any 'best of breed' solutions for saving iPlayer broadcasts to one's PC?

I have a way of getting BBC content that's not limited to 7 days... Are you after anything specific? Bear in mind Standard Def files are 1.8Mbit/s MPEG4 files (around 700Mb for a 1 hour programme) and the HD files are around 5Gb for an H.264+ AAC stream.
