Saint_clark Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 I take it we're not "play-offs at best" anymore, like we were at half time?
Huffton Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Welcome back Ricky, and not a minute too soon!
Liquidshokk Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 That was the hardest game to listen to for a long long time....
Leicestersaint Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Lambert is back! We clearly struggled but battled to get the 3 points. There's a lot more battling in the weeks ahead!
saint_jas Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Good win in the end, really hope Lallana is back for Saturday though. Shame about Bompey winning, ah well. Server complete **** again.
Thedelldays Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 we sounded pathetic for at least half of that match...got out of jail I think.... well done for the change around....and brighton drew too...so another 2 points back on them.. play as bad as bad in the first half on sat and we COULD well get punished more another away game out of the way mind...
Colinjb Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 We wouldn't have won that game last year. Even when we took our best player on the night off, we kept battling and won it. There must be such a good ethic and belief in the team right now. This result bodes very well for us indeed. COYS!!!!
madruss Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 We took the lead from united's comeback on Saturday tonight. What an excellent result...bring on The Posh
itchen_dan Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Ei Ei Ei O, Up the prediction league I go 10 points for me! Great result. Really fought hard for it and need to continue to do so at every away game for the rest of the season! COYS!
Saints foreva Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Let's not get ahead of ourselves with the 'Lambert is back' comments. Good to see him get two goals though. Good win for Saints, doubted it at half time but thankfully we turned it around. Well done Saints and Adkins.
Liquidshokk Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 we sounded pathetic for at least half of that match...got out of jail I think.... well done for the change around....and brighton drew too...so another 2 points back on them.. play as bad as bad in the first half on sat and we COULD well get punished more ano Come on now, we all know saints arent consistent enough to play that bad again on Saturday
LGTL Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 We could well win 7-6 on Saturday, Peterborough's goals record, both scored and conceded, is amazing. In terms of tonight, it was a sign of potential champions. Play absolutely **** and win. Massive result, the biggest of the season IMO.
suewhistle Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Yeah saint_jas, we heard you the first time. We agree [joke!]. Cmon Baz. Alpine is trying to staunch the cuts in his wrists as we speak..
Micky Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Right so who's got the humble pie, just a small slice here please...! Did well to turn it around I guess, and to score in the 90th is a good sign too, still not as convincing as I would like - but 3 points is 3 points. Well done NA and the lads.
acersaint Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 It's the score at the final whistle that counts. At least we are battling until that whistle blows. Two goals from Rickie bodes very well. Lallana and Forte to come into team. We just have to battle on and not let other teams results get to us. Well done lads.
trousers Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 I take it we're not "play-offs at best" anymore, like we were at half time? Unlike the forum which is in the relegation zone..... ;-)
St Marco Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 I will take a win while playing **** over losing while playing awesome any day. The guys did well to turn it around. Lucky we didn't lose as everyone other then brighton won too! Onwards and upwards hopefully.
S-Clarke Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 That is the sort of win that seperates playoff hopefulls from automatic chasers. Something that we haven't been able to do in past seasons, so that is a huge result. In the context i see this as a bigger result than our 6-0 at Oldham, as it shows we have the mental grit and fitness to grind out a win at the death at a place like Exeter. Really, really pleased. Saturday should be a laugh 5-6 to us anyone?
lethallee Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Get the crosses in and Lambert will score simple as that !!
benjii Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Really good result. Very encouraging stuff from N'Guessan too. A shame we couldn't dominate the game more but really glad to see Lambert back amongst the goals. If he can get clinical again we will go up easily.
Saint_clark Posted 1 February, 2011 Author Posted 1 February, 2011 Why the f*ck is there no highlights tonight? The whole FL played.
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Great result and very badly needed. Great to come from behind like that and Lambo must take a lot of confidence from a brace. Huge huge comeback in the scheme of things. Haven't been so pleased about a goal for a very long time. :)
David Strover Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 I have never been more pleased to be completely and utterly wrong!
Jonnyboy Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 we sounded pathetic for at least half of that match...got out of jail I think.... well done for the change around....and brighton drew too...so another 2 points back on them.. play as bad as bad in the first half on sat and we COULD well get punished more another away game out of the way mind... so are you turning or not?!! Lol at all the strokes and heart attacks on here in the match thread. We hit the bar three times, scored twice and their goal was a goalkeepers error, I was never worried
SuperSAINT Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 3 magical points. Fantastic stuff, Saints. 2 points gained on Brighton.
Toomer Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Pleased with the win, but we still need to be more consistant to be sure of an automatic promotion spot. With the players we have available there have been games we have lost we should have won, Brentford home for example.
saints-cris Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 So happy. Shame that all the other teams around us won, especially seeing as last few weeks when we haven't been winning they haven't either, but hey. That was a sign of a top team, firstly to play badly and win, but mainly to keep going and score in the last minute. Glad we are back to scoring ways too, without lallana recently weve lacked a lot going forward so to turn it around is brilliant. Bring on Peterborough, I will bet my house on that one being anything but 0-0 !
CWD Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Well done saints. I apologise for my half time moan. Mark of champions?
suewhistle Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 I'll be interested to hear from those at the match. Did n'Guessan give us more width and help Lambert by allowing him to get into the more central positions he doesn't seem to have been in recently? People were complaining about HAmmond coming on too, but I guess Dany's legs were going.
trousers Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 2 points closer to top spot tonight. Never in any doubt....
Jonnyboy Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 We wouldn't have won that game last year. Even when we took our best player on the night off, we kept battling and won it. There must be such a good ethic and belief in the team right now. This result bodes very well for us indeed. COYS!!!! oh please, are we gonna hear this every time we get an away result for the rest of the season? What about Tranmere last week ffs?
BallBoy Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Just the result we needed in my opinion. It's great to win by several clear goals but you have to be able to grind out results as well. We did that tonight. It shows resilience, confidence to keep going forward and mental strength. We will need all of that to get out of this league.
Jez Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 hurrah for three points. I've literally just logged on here now, and still loooong loading times for pages of text. Really? Still?
alpine_saint Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Many ways to look at this game. We did win, we did fight back. But why oh why did we find ourselves in this position ? We have a lot more games like this coming up. Thank f**k for the result. At one point almost the whole top 8 or 9 (except Brighton) were winning except us. We have to keep up with the competition now, one slip-up could prove vital. Thank heavens we have much better GD than most around us.
revolution saint Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 This won't be surprising to hear but just had a call from someone at the game and apparently we "absolutely robbed them". Lambert's goals were a couple of crackers though and in the long run getting him back on form is what we need. Let's face it he almost dragged us into the playoffs on his own last season.
SuperMikey Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Somebody played their 'Get Out of Jail' card tonight! 3 points in the bag though, hopefully we can exploit P'boro's dodgy defence on the weekend! COYR
Dr Who? Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Phew, we stay in touch! Lets go on another run.... but we are on tv Saturday!
Chin Strain Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 We wouldn't have won that game last year. Even when we took our best player on the night off, we kept battling and won it. There must be such a good ethic and belief in the team right now. This result bodes very well for us indeed. COYS!!!! TBF we didn't win that game last year
beatlesaint Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 Thank f**k for the result. At one point almost the whole top 8 or 9 (except Brighton) were winning except us. We have to keep up with the competition now, one slip-up could prove vital. Thank heavens we have much better GD than most around us. Why ? Are you anticipating all these teams winning every game they play ? Be quite interesting when they play each other and they will all take points off each other believe me.
red&white56 Posted 1 February, 2011 Posted 1 February, 2011 I have to own up, but i was so disappointed at half time that i went to watch the tele............... Only to sneak a look at the results to see that we had won, looking forward to Saturday - first time on a terrace for a long time. COYS !

This is the sort of game we regularly cock up, especially when we're 1-0 down with an hour to go. It's a great mark for the team to go on and win that. I'm bloody ecstatic tbh, more so than when we won 6-0. Love wins like these.
