BadgerBadger Posted 1 February, 2011 Share Posted 1 February, 2011 Gotta work in Northolt for a few days/nights. Have to be their 19:30 finish 07:30 for nights and 07:30 -19:30 days what's the best way in and out to and from Southampton?
mdearlove Posted 1 February, 2011 Share Posted 1 February, 2011 Central line from London if you get the train, alternatively drive up the M3, round the M25 and along the A40. Northolt is 1 min from the A40.
BadgerBadger Posted 1 February, 2011 Author Share Posted 1 February, 2011 Was thinking along the lines of traffic at these times, is a nightmare if so any shortcuts
Verbal Posted 1 February, 2011 Share Posted 1 February, 2011 Was thinking along the lines of traffic at these times, is a nightmare if so any shortcuts Not really. M3, M25 then A40 is best. Both the latter can get very busy, but so can the rat run alternatives. Travel for night shifts will be a lot easier.

hamster Posted 1 February, 2011 Share Posted 1 February, 2011 I worked with a chap at Heathrow from Northolt, he would always take the M25 - A40 route home, reckohed any rat-runs were a total waste of time and although he would expect a slow srive at least he was moving whereas using the back streets he could sit for anything up to half an hour without even getting into first gear
KK the 2nd Posted 2 February, 2011 Share Posted 2 February, 2011 Traffic shouldn't be too bad those times. As said M3 - M25 -M40/A40 or just as good M3 - M25 - M4 - A312
Huffton Posted 2 February, 2011 Share Posted 2 February, 2011 At that time you should find your traveling in the opposite direction to most of the traffic anyway
