Matthew Le God Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 (edited) A rumour with a lot more substance than many others we've had. UPDATE: Forte signs... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2281315,00.html Edited 31 January, 2011 by Matthew Le God
Saint_clark Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Unlocked just for you MLG http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2281315,00.html
Thedelldays Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 good signing...very quick, so all boxes ticked this transfer window
MINIBARCELONASAINT Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 N'Guessan football transfers has become my Forte.
georgeweahscousin Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 "He's lightning quick. When I talk about quick players I always say, 'Is he Jonno quick?" Nigel Adkins, never ceases to make me laugh in interviews!
Smirking_Saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Good signing, happy with that. Pace, can play upfront and on the wings. Funilly enough i saw him on TV the other day and thought that he looks good and wouldn't mind seeing him here.
St Marco Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Nice pacey guy, what we needed really. Welcome to the club!
Guan 2.0 Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Welcome Jonathan! Hope you do well. Just don't yawn in any photos or you will be Murdered.
Saint_clark Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Forte delighted to join "unbelievable club" ...on Saintsplayer - sounds interesting
S-Clarke Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 He's got all the attributes I think we lacked. He might not score lots of goals, but I don't think he's been brought into this club just to score goals. He's here to create a bit of space for everyone else with his pace.
saint lard Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Good luck to the lad, but extremely underwhelmed. Does it make us better,i seriously doubt it.
Thedelldays Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Good luck to the lad, but extremely underwhelmed. Does it make us better,i seriously doubt it. lol...shocker..
aintforever Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Good stuff, just hope it doesn't mean Oxo is off.
trousers Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Welcome Jonathan! Hope you do well. Just don't yawn in any photos or you will be Murdered. This. In fact, don't let anyone make ANY observations about you. Crap opinions - yes. Observations - no
shurlock Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Love to see who would win a 100-metre sprint between Oxo, N'guessan and Forte.
scottzoo Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Irons fans happy too ?? http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=460&fid=12&sty=2&act=1&mid=2118571680
Um Bongo Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 I remember another player who really wasn't rated by his own fans. Chaplow was his name I think.
saint lard Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Don't let me down Nigel...another so so signing please. We will walk this league. Preperations for the championship are moving at a pace. Devils advocate and all.
Thedelldays Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Don't let me down Nigel...another so so signing please. We will walk this league. Preperations for the championship are moving at a pace. Devils advocate and all. seriously, why do you bother, the club seem to let you down every week....just with nigel adkins being manager fills you with such disapointment..
Saint_clark Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Irons fans happy too ?? http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=460&fid=12&sty=2&act=1&mid=2118571680 Looks like their forum has gone into meltdown with the massive transfer news we just released.
Toadhall Saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Don't let me down Nigel...another so so signing please. We will walk this league. Preperations for the championship are moving at a pace. Devils advocate and all. Seen you moaning on most of the threads - what would have made you happy?
georgeweahscousin Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 I don't get the negativity, for weeks we have been on here moaning that we need more wide players. We sign two, and nobody is happy.
S-Clarke Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 If you look at Nguessun and Forte, they both add pace and power to this team. Wouldn't you all agree that is something we lacked in the wide areas? This window has been great (so far). Chaplow, Guly, Lallana long term deal, OxO Staying so far, Nugessun and now Forte.
trousers Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 seriously, why do you bother To get a "why do you bother" reaction per chance? He succeeds every time... ;-)
Saint_clark Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 I don't get the negativity, for weeks we have been on here moaning that we need more wide players. We sign two, and nobody is happy. Everyone was expecting Jennings and Pilkington.
Thedelldays Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 I don't get the negativity, for weeks we have been on here moaning that we need more wide players. We sign two, and nobody is happy. totally agree...it was all "we need at least one wide player and an attacker with pace if we are to go up" we get exactly that, keep our prize kid, sign up two loan players who have been great and sign up a proper talent and arguably the best player in the league on an extended contract...and people still are "underwhelmed" I am gobsmacked really
MINIBARCELONASAINT Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Love to see who would win a 100-metre sprint between Oxo, N'guessan and Forte. me. That's better.
Toadhall Saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 To get a "why do you bother" reaction per chance? He succeeds every time... ;-) Not surprised given the effort he puts in.
saint lard Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 seriously, why do you bother, the club seem to let you down every week....just with nigel adkins being manager fills you with such disapointment.. Not every week.
Super_Saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Is this guy a natural winger or striker?. I hope he is a winger because 9 goals in 91 doesn't sound too good.
saintbletch Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Like the honestly with which NA explained the logic of the deal. Says that he knows that Jonno can be inconsistent but that he is a physical athlete who he thinks will benefit from being in the great environment we have at the club - coaching/medical/sports science. Looks like NA has thought it through and knows he's not getting the finished article. It reminded me of the logic behind the Kenwyne Jones signing.
Give it to Ron Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 At first I was a bit underwhelmed as he is not in the calibre I thought we needed(McK-Smith who was brilliant against us), however when I read this...its sounds like we have another Kenwynne who couldnt trap a bag of cement when I first watched him. He has progressed into a good player so perhaps we can do the same with Forte? I have been saying all season we needed someone with pace to turn the opposing defence around facing their own goal. He's lightning quick. When I talk about quick players I always say, 'Is he Jonno quick?' We've found that he's got pace, power, and he's got stronger and stronger. "He's had a bit part to play, but he can play on the left or right wing or as a centre forward. He's got unbelievable pace and strength, he gets that ball and he runs with it in behind and he's scores goals. In training at times, some of the stuff that he does - he's unplayable. "He's experienced in the Championship now. He's had a good couple of years and is a player who is getting better and better, and still only young. "He's always going to be a goal threat because of his pace. He's willing, he's got a great attitude, and I think he'll fit in excellently to the culture that we have at this football club. He's got a good physical presence about himself and we're delighted that he can come and join us. "We're looking at the culture here and I know what his capabilities are, and I know at times that he can be a little inconsistent as all young players can be, but I just believe that bringing him into the environment that we've got down here he can only get better and better. Good facilities, excellent coaching and great medical with sports science support and I think we've got a physical athlete here who has got undoubted natural ability and is going to be a goal threat, and I think he's going to enhance the group of players that we've got at this football club." http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2281315,00.html
JustMike Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 pace brought into the building, brilliant. Would be nice to sign another striker but it looks like we have alot of options.
JackFrost Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 so it looks like pace is his forte (thought I'd get that in first) Also a Barbados international
S-Clarke Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Is this guy a natural winger or striker?. I hope he is a winger because 9 goals in 91 doesn't sound too good. Bit of an all over attacker. Can play left wing, right wing or up front. He's not been brought in for his goals, i'm sure of that.
BLEEDREDANDWHITE Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Is that the best saints can do? 11 goals in 118 games , plays manly as a sub, their fans happy to see him go
SFCDan Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 I don't get the negativity, for weeks we have been on here moaning that we need more wide players. We sign two, and nobody is happy. Not really flawless logic there. You could say Arsenal need a keeper and I'm sure they wouldn't be happy with signing Tommy Forecast and Kevin Poole.
Saint_clark Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Still no "DONE DEAL" announcement on the beeb, come on Sam Lyon, you're slacking.
beatlesaint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 If you look at Nguessun and Forte, they both add pace and power to this team. Wouldn't you all agree that is something we lacked in the wide areas? This window has been great (so far). Chaplow, Guly, Lallana long term deal, OxO Staying so far, Nugessun and now Forte. Quite agree but some would still moan if we had signed Torres ! "Always injured, looks miserable" etc etc
dune Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 We've already got enough players like him in my opinion, but good luck to him and hopefully he'll become an asset.
BLEEDREDANDWHITE Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Still if Saints have picked him up cheaply could be worth a gamble, not sure about a 3 1/2 years contract !!
