so22saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Share Posted 31 January, 2011 had my stag do in Newquay just before it turned into the massive **** hole it is now (or because i was younger i just didn't notice - it was 11 years ago). things that went well: foam party in Tall Trees (since renamed - the club by the station) golf at the little 9 hole on saturday morning having a Magnum PI night (nicked the idea from Loaded issue 1) and best of all, there was an open air party at Pentire Heads which was superb. watched the sun rise to some late nineties trance with 500 other people did a bit of surfing but it wasn't that successful as a group thing - mainly due to hangovers! dubai_phil Posted 31 January, 2011 Share Posted 31 January, 2011 Oh, here's another idea of what to do in Newquay..... Fly to any of these destinations from the airport Bristol Cardiff Cork Dublin Glasgow Isles of Scilly Leeds/Bradford London Gatwick Manchester Newcastle Went there on a mate's stag about 7 years ago, we had a good laugh, drank too much, but after working out the cost & time of the travel down there, what we spent on food & beer & B&B we discovered we could have gone to Prague for less. Go somewhere else? not my idea - the groom fancies it. beer will numb the pain!
Dog Posted 31 January, 2011 Share Posted 31 January, 2011 Take a good pair of wellies and a peg for your nose, as the vomit in the street is nearly as high as the dog poop...
St Columb Saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Share Posted 31 January, 2011 All this from people who have probably never been there and get their information from the Sun. Plenty of bars in Newquay. In the summer more hen nights then stag, all in fancy dress. Tall trees as someone mentioned is no more, was pole dancing club before closing. Beer gets cheaper the further away from the main center, The Red lion is the cheapest but full of surf dudes. Most people end up in Berties or the Saliors. Thedelldays Posted 31 January, 2011 Share Posted 31 January, 2011 newquay is OK..no where near as good as it was only a few years ago...the locals have had enough and every year, the rules/police get tougher and tougher..
