Trouble after the game

Walking back along Northam Road there seemed to be some 'running battles' going on. Saw quite a few scuffles outside of the flats on Northam Estate - close to the Esso garage. There was a bloke in a white t-shirt (Saints fan I think) who seemed to be heavily involved. Hope there were no serious injuries. Anyone else hear anything?

Dunno what happened walking towards the bridge. A car drove through the cones blocking the road that coaches park on and hit someone on his way through. the guy he hit hobbled after him.... dunno what ended up happening but the car wouldnt have got far with the other end of the road being coned off too!

What's wrong with that? If I saw an aggressive idiot acting violently I wouldn't say anything to his face because of the risk he'd turn on me. I'm comfortable enough in myself to admit and I eschew violence so I don't see the problem.

They may look pretty (flares) but there's no way we'd be allowed to behave like they were today when we go to away games. Like the players seem to get away with it on the pitch, manure fans get away with it off the pitch.

Only trouble is when everyone does it it can get a bit smokey, hence why its not allowed. But it can make a special atmosphere.

The Manure fans were being c*nts in the wetherspoons in Ocean Village before the game, walking round like they own the place. I walked past them in a saints shirt, one said, 'you're brave'. I don't know why? He did have a cockney accent too and transpires he was from Hastings ... anyway i digress.

Man U fans were being smug ****s on the train back up north as well (I was heading back to uni and still wearing my saints shirt). What annoys me the most is they assume we as fans of a smaller club are jealous when I couldn't be happier and more proud of being a Saints fan.

The only problem is that the whole support was standing so it would have been difficult to actually get up to the man with the flare.. Imagine it at Peterborough.. Police would just walk up to you and take you off with no opposition from any other Saints fans.

I went up to the fella that was causing trouble and told him to his face, "You are an aggressive c*nt, mate. We don't want your sort around here. There is no room for violence in the modern game." Then he tried to start on me so I punched him in the face and kicked him when he was down. Then some old ladies and families that were walking past said, collectively, "Yeh, we hate violent c*nts like you!" Then they kicked him too and spat on him and one of the old ladies done a wee on his head.

Nothing wrong with the flare. Not like the guy threw it at our fans, no harm done and it looked pretty darn cool. United fans weren't as good as they have been previously when they've been down here, but they were still by far the best fans we've had at SMS this season. Top class support. Wish our away support was more like theirs.

I’m not so sure about this? I kind of think that if a car can drive through one set of cones, it may be able to do the same thing when it gets to another set of cones?

To be fair it is a little bit easier when you win week in week out away from home. I doubt there fans would be as good if they spent 10 years outside of the top flight.

At one point it looked like some of the Manc fans were fighting between themselves so assumed the stretcher was for that. I was right on the edge of the divide right by the Manc fans and TBF quite a few were applauding us shouting well played and that we'll go up this year

Ha, well the bus blocking the road between the two lines of cones might have done better at stopping him getting through ;-) I didn't hang around to see what happened but I can only assume he didn't get very far. Can't believe he didn't see the no left turn signs and the cones before driving over them.

Quite entertaining really watching the amount of timeshare brain cells sat on the buses waiting to be taken back to the facility as we walked up Britannia Road. They were banging on the windows giving us all 2 fingers and winker signs. They must have thought they had just played and beaten Barcelona or Real Madrid, which was sweet of them.

 

Most amusing was a couple of Saints fans towards the top of the road talking about the game, when a London gobshiote Manc and his mates decided to interrupt this conversation, all you had to do was put these "Manc" clowns into school uniform and transport them to the playground and the chat had reached the right setting. Just about everyone in earshot including a couple of Coppers were amused at how stupid the main mouth was making himself sound.

 

So with that level of intelligence wandering though the city with a couple of Shandy's inside them, someone will react somewhere along the line. Nice to know civility will return in 2 weeks when the Cumbrian's pay us a visit.

Premiership fans are mostly knob'eds who don't know what real football is. Don't know about all of you, but I like League One, the fans are far better.

If we're talking about the same one (had some kind of oxygen in his/her mouth) I wasn't sure it was a Manc, it looked to me like they might have had a trace of a red diagonal on a white shirt as one of their numerous layers. But then I didn't see where the stretcher originated. Anyone see the initial incident ?

Yeah. More people should take a leaf out of my book. After the game, win or lose. I go around the stadium for an hour after the game trying to shake everyones hand saying 'good game mate'. Some of them I try and have a cuddle with, but it depends whether they punched me in the face or not when I tried to shake their hand.
