Transfer deadline day thread!

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache

Perhaps we'll be selling that guy 'Font' that Clive Tyldsley (ITV commentator) kept referring to.

As discussed on another thread, the commentator's pronunciation was correct.

Just seen this posted earlier. Apologies.

Thank god for that. Beattie would have been a stupid signing for us.

A stupid signing for us, yet one which makes sense for a team in the top half of the Premier League? Can't believe that anyone wouldnt think him a good signing or that he wouldnt have scored for fun in this league (which is something which Lambert seems far from doing atm)

1. His wage demands would be massive.

2. He wouldn't score goals for fun, when was the last time he did?

3. His work rate has always been questionable.

4. Euell and Ormerod play for Blackpool. They wouldn't get in our team.

It isn't 2003 anymore. Beattie is no better than what we already have.

1. Blackpool have a wage cap of 10k, surely we could afford this?

2. when was the last time he played in League 1?

3. I'd rather have a striker with no work rate but could be relied upon to hit the back of the net.

4. Euell and Ormerod only start in Blackpool's infamous reserve team games (the ones they get fined for)

It may not be 2003 but to suggest Lambert and Barnard are better than a striker scoring regularly for Stoke in the Premier League a couple of seasons ago is quite plainly wrong.

1. Even if we could afford it, he isn't worth it.

2. He hasn't scored at any level for ages. Is the SPL a good standard? Been rubbish up there.

3. He can't be relied upon, even in his pomp at Saints first time, it was only in spells.

4. So will he soon.....

He isn't good enough anymore. Simple as that. Lambert/Barnard/Guly for me over a lazy prima donna any day.

Bet we sign no one. Would be cr*p.

Why? We've re-signed Lallana, kept Chamberlain, signed Guly, signed Chaplow, signed a much needed winger on loan, offloaded Wotton, and as of right now, we still have Puncheon if we need him.

Absolutely superb January transfer window. I love my club and those running it.

That bit says it all

ie Bobby Charlton was scoring goals thirty years ago

It is the "Time Factor"

Two tweets from Solent:

Bbc_solent_prop_rgb_normal solentsport #saintsfc boss Nigel Adkins was coy today over the signing of S****horpe winger Jonathon Fort. Sources in north suggest it may happen.

solentsport #saintsfc boss Nigel Adkins tells solentsport he "doesn't envisage" signing Posh forward Craig Mikail-Smith before window shuts.
