People gathered around Stoke's training ground this evening. Why? Just why would you stand there freezing your tits off. Are they expecting to sign Ronaldo or something?

I would **** myself into an oblivion all night if that happened. Surely would cost in excess of £2m for the pair though?

More like 2m for Lewis alone, he could play in the Prem! Too good to be true this deal! Would be amazing though!

more to come i think.

Nope, Saints are finished for the window...

"That's it for this transfer window. All done and dusted for both ins & outs. Off home to enjoy the final hour on sky sports news. #saintsfc

Oxo remains ours...

Woot!

This. This. This

The most talked about talent in English football, whom the media tried so hard to get to sign for the big four, will be spending the next few months helping us win the title and NOT sitting on some comfortable subs bench earning megabucks!

Been a good good day!!

jordan sibley says we are finished, does he actually work for the club. Can we be sure this is correct?

He's Cortese's press officer / communications manager etc

Ian Dowie just said he signed Leon Best for Southampton? When the hell did this happen?

FROM southampton.

When he was the Coventry manager.

What a great transfer window. Chaplow, Guly, N'Guessan and Forte in. Lallana and Chamberlain staying. Couldn't ask for much more really. Good job Cortese. Thank god it's over now though and we can concentrate on getting out of this ****ty league.

totally agree...hopefully the spoilt brats will drift into the background now.

Considering the speculation surrounding some of our players to come through this with Lallana signed up Guly signed up a real Bargain in Chaplow, 2 new quick wingers(jury out on these two) AOC still intact not to shabby really. Now down to the serious buisness of securing promotion.

Not quite over. 14mins & counting. Tick, Tock...

Won't find me stood aimlessly, pulling annoying faces behind the reporters (although they'd clearly be no Sky reporters outside our ground like at Chelski!)

Remember the loan window is still open chaps.

There is a week gap before it reopens and it is only for short term loans - not ones until the end of the season. If Saints were going to make a decent loan signing they would have already made it rather than wait until the emergency loan window opens.

Pleased with this transfer window; we aleady had a good squad, now it is stronger.

So - how do we think our promotion rivals have done? Who would you rather be now?

Posted
Personally i think we are just a foward short of a great squad. Someone to push Lambert and Barnard would have been perfect.

such as Guly who is keeping Barnard out of the team?

Would Liverpool be financially in the s**t if the Torres deal fell through but they had to pay out £35m for Carroll? I know they've got a new owner but that would be a pretty big hit... Not Saints related, I know but would be funny - especially after the shirt burning.

Looks like Holloway is building another team to test the patience of the FA with another weakened side. Today's business has seen him pick up an alleged non conformer, a perennial crock, and tubster.

Over the moon with the transfer window.

Apart from what the morons are saying, we needed to keep our best players which we did, secure the signings of Guly and Chaplow which we also did, dump the misfit puncheon and sign a replacement.

Great great window as far as i'm concerned. As i said before i thought it would be difficult as the january window always is.

Strange set of deals for Holloway I think. Blackpool have thrived on work ethic and tight team spirit. Puncheon and Beattie are going to test that.
