Saint_clark Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 No bait - are u not concerned? Linked to Austin, CMS ect but sign the likes of Bignall, N'Guessan and maybe Forte? We are/were the ManCity of L1? Bignall was a short term signing whilst Barnard was injured. I really rate N'Guessan and Forte sounds promising. I was never expecting us to spend £2million+ on Austin or CMS.
Matthew Le God Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Ah. I see. The bait you used this time round was a little too obvious for most of the fish here. But clearly not this one In the faceless world of internet forums it is impossible to judge if someone is being serious or fishing for a bite. So I bite everything to make sure!
Saint Billy Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 No bait - are u not concerned? Linked to Austin, CMS ect but sign the likes of Bignall, N'Guessan and maybe Forte? We are/were the ManCity of L1? More like Arsenal. We have the money but will not get ripped off!

Appy Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Do u really rate N'Guessan? He looked poor when he came on agaisnt MU LOL Really?
Saint_clark Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Do u really rate N'Guessan? He looked poor when he came on agaisnt MU Some of the best players in the world have looked poor against Man United.

Matthew Le God Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Do u really rate N'Guessan? He looked poor when he came on agaisnt MU He only came on in the 79th minute for a League One side playing the best team in England, at the time Man Utd were leading and playing possession football to see out the game. How you make a judgement based on that I don't know!
grammy Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 GK Kelvin/Bart Defence Jaidi/Fonte/Seabourne/Martin/Harding/Dickson/Richardson/Butterfield Midfield Chaplow/Spiderman/Hammond/Lallana/Chambo/N'Guessan/Forte(poss)/Gobern Forwards Lambert/Barny/Connolly/Guly/ Connolly/lallana/Hammond nearly back to full fitness Good competition for places and loads of options for squad rotation If we can't go up this season with that lot then something is seriously wrong IMO
Window Cleaner Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 He only came on in the 79th minute for a League One side playing the best team in England, at the time Man Utd were leading and playing possession football to see out the game. How you make a judgement based on that I don't know! Furthermore I doubt that he's kicked a ball in anger for a while.
SO16_Saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 1644 DONE DEAL: It's a Liverpool signing, but not the one we are all waiting for. The Reds have signed 17-year-old midfielder Conor Thomas from Coventry on loan until the end of the season. He made his Sky Blues debut in Saturday's defeat by Birmingham City.
shurlock Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Do u really rate N'Guessan? He looked poor when he came on agaisnt MU i know he was awful for those 12 mins

Jimmy Gabriel's Halo Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 It seems like there's a potential domino effect building with the big boys and we could see four or five blockbusters happen in quick succession. Meanwhile, back in the real world, I'd start to get a little nervous about our apparent inactivity if our League One rivals were more active, but they don't seem to be. Everything's relative. Not quite true - Bompey, P'boro, Sheff Wed & Charlton have all made signings although most are unkown to me so don't know their quality.

Glasgow_Saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 i know he was awful for those 12 mins Nani and Giggs looked v.good - they only got a short run out too?
SO16_Saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 ...OK? ????? haha - i just thought it was a really random signing and thought i'd share. it's as saints related as all the other drivvel on this thread to date!
ohwhenthesaints Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Nani and Giggs looked v.good - they only got a short run out too? Put that rod away please.
Appy Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Nani and Giggs looked v.good - they only got a short run out too? They were not playing against a team 2 divisions higher.
Saint_clark Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 haha - i just thought it was a really random signing and thought i'd share. it's as saints related as all the other drivvel on this thread to date! Fair enough.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Forte will be a good signing for us. He has a chance to get into the squad pretty much straight away which means he'll want to impress. Seems to me like he has been constrained or not happy in some way at Scunny since NA left.
Toomer Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/1472003.stm sorry if already posted... Bloody forgot that one.
saintjay77 Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 He only came on in the 79th minute for a League One side playing the best team in England, at the time Man Utd were leading and playing possession football to see out the game. How you make a judgement based on that I don't know! I didn't think he looked any good either but appreciate it was his 1st few mins with a new team and hardly trained with them so expect him to improve allot in the coming weeks. Didn't expect much from him considering and my expectations were reached.
Saint Charlie Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Hammond fit and available according to Adkins. Lallana closing in on a return but won't play tomorrow. Definately not signing Mackail-Smith, Puncheon probabaly moving on. Source: Saints Player
alpine_saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Isnt Puncheon p*ssing off then ? I thought half the PL were interested in him.
Saint Charlie Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Assuming the Forte one gets completed I wonder if that is it? Wouldn't be a recent Saints transfer window without an unheard of foreigner signing on loan.
Appy Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Isnt Puncheon p*ssing off then ? I thought half the PL were interested in him. They probably got wind of his attitude.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Isnt Puncheon p*ssing off then ? I thought half the PL were interested in him. Apparently he's on a bus to Blackpool. Or somewhere.
S-Clarke Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 ''were skint no 1 signing its all crap'' that's the sort of mentally we're dealing with here....as is said, if we sign Forte for £2.5m it will excite people. Not because it's worth it or good value at all, but because people just want to see us spend millions for some reason - we don't need to.
wild-saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 He only came on in the 79th minute for a League One side playing the best team in England, at the time Man Utd were leading and playing possession football to see out the game. How you make a judgement based on that I don't know! Gordon Watson rates him as player that has the ability to play at higher level than Leicester. However he thinks that he is massively affected by confidence (or lack of it). Apparently he was tasked by Leicester to do a report on Ryan Dickson but after being skinned by N'guessan about 5 times in 15 minutes he decided to report on N'Guessen instead. Sounds like a we have a player if hey can get his head right.
Wes Tender Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Some of the best players in the world have looked poor against Man United. And conversely some of the best United players have looked poor against us, as recently as Saturday.
Viking Warrior Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 We need to sign someone called Trust and House then we can be sponsored by Trust House Forte
Turkish Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 comment by ironite (U14423177) posted 1 Hour Ago Comparing Forte with Woolford....one has pace but no footballing brain or composure, one has no pace but genuine quality on the ball....pretty clear that Bristol are getting the better player here. I'm very surprised to be honest, but perhaps Forte will do a better job down south. Bigger pitch for a start, he won't get many games as a striker I'd wager. But I recall Adkins saying Forte had the potential to be an England international so he obviously rates him. Scunny poster on 606, according to him NA rates him. Lol, i remember another manager of ours saying Ryan Smith was world class!
Secret Site Agent Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Get ya own material! He, you know what they say. Immitation is the best form of flattery. I'm just following the greats, such as yourself. (Truth to tell, too lazy to read all the posts.)::
Lighthouse Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 We need to sign someone called Trust and House then we can be sponsored by Trust House Forte Or John Knox from Stenhousemuir.

jawillwill Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 We need to sign someone called Trust and House then we can be sponsored by Trust House Forte We'd also need Forte too? I say we sign someone called William and someone called Hill so we can be sponsored by William Hill. Or perhaps people called Maynard, Wine and Gums so that we can be sponsored by Maynard Wine Gums.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 NC now seems obsessed with bargain basement players - if you want promotion spend money on some quality!
dubai_phil Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 We need to sign someone called Trust and House then we can be sponsored by Trust House Forte It must be really cold, dark, wet and lonely up north at this time of year, we can tell
Appy Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Puncheon can't play for Blackpool this season, the 2 club rule still applies because some Scottish kid has been denied a move because he's already played for 2 clubs. What about N'guessan then?
Saint_clark Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 NC now seems obsessed with bargain basement players - if you want promotion spend money on some quality! It is Adkins deciding who to sign.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 It is Adkins deciding who to sign. Maybe NA is stuck in that mold - sign someone cheap but with potential and maybe get 1 in 3 to come good? Suppose old habits are hard to break and imagine he had little option at scunny?
St Chalet Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Puncheon was on an emergency loan, he can sign for anyone. Hth
Window Cleaner Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 What about N'guessan then? don't know if he actually played for Leicester this season. Anyway it looks as if it may have been upped to 3 clubs of late but the Scottish lad that has been refused FIFA sanction seemingly has only played for 2. Go figure.
Viking Warrior Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Hi Phil its a pleasant day here It must be really cold, dark, wet and lonely up north at this time of year, we can tell No I think its that bottle of Highland Park I got for you. I have finally opened it. Just trying to cheer the forum up a little. I belong ta Glagae dear old glasgae toon Hic!

Window Cleaner Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Andy Carroll has a transfer request accepted after Newcastle turned down the second bid from Liverpool. Aha forgoes his cut and ups the cut for the seller.
Colinjb Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 Andy Carroll has a transfer request accepted after Newcastle turned down the second bid from Liverpool. And Mike Ashley breathes a sigh of relief.
Saint_clark Posted 31 January, 2011 Posted 31 January, 2011 And Mike Ashley breathes a sigh of relief. Hadn't thought about that, but yeah - Newcastle fans will now hate Carroll rather than Ashley.
