bungle Posted 13 October, 2008 Posted 13 October, 2008 Who is going to the NFL game at Wembley in two weeks time (also, who has tickets to the Tailgate party)? Who wishes they were going but forgot to get any tickets?! I am going to the game and tailgate.
Guest Hacienda Posted 13 October, 2008 Posted 13 October, 2008 I'll be there. Going to France the next day so the whole tribe is staying over on London whilst my nipper and I go to the game.
st_louis_saint Posted 13 October, 2008 Posted 13 October, 2008 I shall be there (provided my tickets arrive soon, of course).
bungle Posted 13 October, 2008 Author Posted 13 October, 2008 My tickets arrived on Saturday. Including tailgate tickets, although they'd previously given no indication of accepting my request for the tailgate tickets.
Rorytheking Posted 13 October, 2008 Posted 13 October, 2008 I completely forgot to get tickets, am gutted Should be a very good match, weather permitting.
Niemster Posted 13 October, 2008 Posted 13 October, 2008 not going this year as im not interested in the teams playing, went last year being a dolphins fan and all. was good fun sounds like they are packing more into this year should be good for those going.
RedArmy Posted 13 October, 2008 Posted 13 October, 2008 The tickets look great. Gold with Brees on them.:cool:
bungle Posted 15 October, 2008 Author Posted 15 October, 2008 I completely forgot to get tickets, am gutted Should be a very good match, weather permitting. I e-mailed you.
pingpong Posted 17 October, 2008 Posted 17 October, 2008 i'll be there (tailgate and game). bit annoyed chargers aren't the home team, i might end up being in a minority supporting the chargers. also a bit annoyed merriman got crocked. I think Chargers will win it, hopefully coming into form now and Rivers has been superb so far. looking forward to seing LT and reggie bush, bush got up to 22mph on a punt return the other week (according to ESPN).

70's Mike Posted 17 October, 2008 Posted 17 October, 2008 i hope everyone going has a great time, i worked in Boston many years ago for a couple of months and watched the Patriots at Foxboro. The day long experience with my American friends was great, although watching the game live from a distance is quite difficult.
Wade Garrett Posted 17 October, 2008 Posted 17 October, 2008 Excellent. The pitch will be ruined even more than usual. American football is like Rugby for nancy boys.
Thedelldays Posted 17 October, 2008 Posted 17 October, 2008 i cant think of what is worse.....the third reich or NFL at Wembley
pingpong Posted 20 October, 2008 Posted 20 October, 2008 Excellent. The pitch will be ruined even more than usual. American football is like Rugby for nancy boys. well they played the soccer beforehand this time, so it won't affect the england soccer team. and rugby is rugby for nancy boys. i don't think they discriminate.
bungle Posted 20 October, 2008 Author Posted 20 October, 2008 No Reggie Bush. Being a Saints fan I should be extra disappointed. Nonetheless, I think Shaun Payton has a tendency to under-utilise Deuce McAllister in favour of Reggie Bush, and so now he has no choice but to use Deuce. On Sunday I shall be shouting: "DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEE!"
pingpong Posted 20 October, 2008 Posted 20 October, 2008 stererophonics are doing a set pre-game ne-yo singing the us anthem joss stone singing the brit anthem. chargers winning the game.
saint lard Posted 21 October, 2008 Posted 21 October, 2008 Jimmy Cricket doing a turn at half-time. I heard Mike Osman had replaced him.
Window Cleaner Posted 21 October, 2008 Posted 21 October, 2008 (edited) I completely forgot to get tickets, am gutted Should be a very good match, weather permitting. Think you had to be pretty sharp about it though. Weren't they sold out pretty quickly? Not the best of matches, the Chargers are having a pretty poor season and the Saints are a disaster this time round. Still NFL is always a spectacle worth seeing. thought they would have got Vashti Bunyan in to sing the national anthem though. Edited 21 October, 2008 by Window Cleaner
Chris Larkin Posted 24 October, 2008 Posted 24 October, 2008 Should be a good one, my Seahawks have been AWFUL this year, so it's nice to be able to concentrate on some different teams. Suppose I'll be cheering for the Saints, because Philip Rivers' arrogance irritates me hugely. Anyone know if Mike Carlson is going to be involved in the coverage on the BBC?

Anyone know if Mike Carlson is going to be involved in the coverage on the BBC? yes, Carlson will be doing stuff for the BBC, his copresenter will be that fella from childrens bbc, who did last years, and has been doing a few sports shows here and there. can't remember his name though. I don't think Rivers is arrogant, he just has a loud mouth, I thought the byebyebaby stuff against jay cutler last season was pure entertainment. It was a big rivalry game, he stuck it to em!
