Window Cleaner Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jan/27/inter-40m-gareth-bale?CMP=twt_gu Damn you Rupert *shakes fist* Depends if a sell on fee would transcend the demise of the original company doesn't it. Depends if SLH were the recipient or SFC.
SFCDan Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 Nah I'm happy we got rid of the sell on fee for the sake of Tommy Forecast, astute business move.
Jimmy_D Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 While it would have been nice... I get the feeling we're not in desperate need of that money any more...
ulstersaint Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 It's history, forget it, move on and look forward.
Jimmy_D Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 We can get more than the sell on fee we lost by using this to attract top talent to our acadamy. This is proof that our acadamy is a valid route to the very very top.
Red Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 giving up the sell on clause just might have given us enough extra money to make it, until ML bought us ! Know what I would prefer !!
Johnny Shearer Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 Old ground blaming Lowe surely? You can argue it was the 'Wilde' going gung-ho in the first place that led to the situation Saints were in and needed funds asap.

You can argue it was the 'Wilde' going gung-ho in the first place that led to the situation Saints were in and needed funds asap. Let me just point this out to you one last time. All the money spent by the Wilde administration was subsequent recovered in player sales and then wasted on old hacks and has beens.
swesaint Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 If Bale moves to Internazionale I believe that we would be entitled to solidarity payment according to FIFA-rules. Solidarity Contribution - Payment breakdown When a professional moves during the course of a contract, 5% of any compensation, with the exception of Training Compensation, paid to his Former Club shall be deducted from the total amount of this compensation and distributed by the New Club as a solidarity contribution to the club(s) involved in his training and education over the years (calculated pro rata if less than one year) he was registered with the relevant club(s) between the Seasons of his 12th and 23rd birthdays, as follows: Season of 12th birthday: 5% Season of 13th birthday: 5% Season of 14th birthday: 5% Season of 15th birthday: 5% Season of 16th birthday: 10% Season of 17th birthday: 10% Season of 18h birthday: 10% Season of 19th birthday: 10% Season of 20th birthday: 10% Season of 21st birthday: 10% Season of 22nd birthday: 10% Season of 23rd birthday: 10% Total = 100%
Mattio Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 TBH it would surely be 4 million max which whilst would be nice isn't really a great deal to us now, Not that we'd sniff at it but we're not in desperate need... still 4 million or forecast... hmm

kpturner Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 TBH it would surely be 4 million max which whilst would be nice isn't really a great deal to us nowIs that some sort of windup?? It is a huge sum of money for an L1 team to get as a windfall. Where does this idea come from that we have so much money washing around that £4m wouldn't be a big deal?
swesaint Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 5 % of the 40m is 2m and then around 30 % (not sure at which age he joined us) of that. So in total around 700 000???

I mean to the Liebherr family more than the club, which is where the money comes from, but yes to a L1 team of course its a lot
dickyhale Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 It's history, forget it, move on and look forward. well said
Saint_lambden Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 Don't worry , we have Tommy Forecast....oh
Johnny Shearer Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 Let me just point this out to you one last time. All the money spent by the Wilde administration was subsequent recovered in player sales and then wasted on old hacks and has beens. Easy fella. Don't think you have ever pointed out anything to me before, so surely its you pointing it out to me for the first time? We can go around in circles arguing one way or the other forever as its quite easy to say this, that or the other. Think you missed my point in regards to why just blame Lowe when it was a combination of factors and parties and as a couple of posters have pointed out above its old ground!
niceandfriendly Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 I mean to the Liebherr family more than the club, which is where the money comes from, but yes to a L1 team of course its a lot Of course 4million to the Liebherr family is a lot of money. Rich people don't keep their wealth with that sort of attitude.
Fan The Flames Posted 27 January, 2011 Posted 27 January, 2011 Old ground blaming Lowe surely? You can argue it was the 'Wilde' going gung-ho in the first place that led to the situation Saints were in and needed funds asap. Wrong.
Johnny Shearer Posted 28 January, 2011 Posted 28 January, 2011 Wrong. Oh dear love. Look at my reply to Window Cleaner.
