I think that's the most serious issue :D It's banal in the extreme !

It's basically a gameshow subtley designed to tempt people to make reckless gambles (Edmonds calls it 'courage') by chasing big money and ending up going with hardly any money at all.

They blatantly only let certain people on there who believe in "positive thinking" and have no financial sense at all.

The whole thing is so staged it's cringeworthy to the extreme

Of course you are right. The offers are always pitched well below the average amount of money left per box. The inclination to go on is therefore greater but misses the point that whilst this would always make more money over time ( the best professional gamblers achieve profit due to a large extent to the fact they able to judge when a horse priced 3/1 should be really be say a 2/1 shot, thus in the long run they will win ) as a one-off nothing is guaranteed. When the contestants start to cry that's when I invariably turn off !!

What makes me laugh is when you get these mongs coming on saying they have come with a 'strategy' and they believe that it will make them rich. FFS - you're just opening boxes at random with no possible idea what they contain. There's not a strategy in the world that will help you you morons.

I'd love to just go on there and open all the boxes in numerical order just to annoy Edmonds. Sadly though I have a 3-digit IQ so I wouldn't have a chance of getting picked.

I remember watching it once and some bloke had blatantly fooled the system, he had a good start to the game and dealt after the second round winning about 25 grand.

Edmonds and the audience were aghast at what he'd done at the time and it turned out he'd won way more than he could have at any other stage at the game.

Another one that makes me turn off is when the audience start chanting "blue, blue, blue, blue" just before someone opens a box.

The most absurd one was when they supposedly had a power cut and the lights, mics etc. all went off. Amazingly though the cameras stayed on even though Edmonds later claimed workmen had drilled through an underground cable and knocked all the power in the building off.
