Barney Trubble Posted 3 February, 2011 Share Posted 3 February, 2011 http://www.expressandstar.com/news/2011/02/03/councillors-refuse-to-stand-for-war-hero/ I just don't know what to make of it all these days, if some councillors, some with a divisive hidden agenda get their way,I fear we are destined to live in polarised communities, effectively a parallel universe with so many different cultures and races living alongside each other but with no respect or understanding of the other. Minty Posted 3 February, 2011 Share Posted 3 February, 2011 The Councillor seems to imply that just by being in the room, he is being forced to join in with the prayer, which is rubbish. We have all been at weddings or funerals or other events where a prayer has been said... do those who are of different faiths to that which a prayer is being said in all leave the room at that point? No. It's a simple case of tolerance and respect for others IMO, and he showed a lack of respect.
