Dany N'Guessan signs on loan

Not that excited about a loan. Hope he's decent, but I'd been hoping for a permenant buy or two. Probably a good option, I trust Adkins, like Chaplow perhaps a good player not getting a game in the championship. But I continue to wonder whether we actually have money.

Yeah our squad is good enough, or damn well should be, but splashing a bit of cash could guarantee promotion just about. Whereas failing? That costs us half the squad and a few more years.

Some people, we've signed 3 and now loaned 1, some teams would be estatic with that!

Just to confirm' date=' he has never played under Adkins before. He was on loan to Scunny in November, when Adkins was here.[/quote']

My mistake, I had just assumed. I think it's probably fair to assume he would've had some feedback from his time there though.

Sounds promising, great stuff! Good luck Dany.

The cynic inside me would suspect this is down to Chamberlain leaving, and Puncheon if anyone stumps up our valuation, if not let him rot in on the U21s bench!

Lallana injured and Puncheon wanting away means with or without Chamberlain we'd still need a winger. Well chuffed with this.

To be honest, I think its more because Lallana is injured and Puncheon has played his last game.

I wonder if he is better then Punch - what a disaster that has turned out to be! How will he compare to Punch and Chambo I wonder? The video above looks good, a couple of nice headers in there too!

Nope pretty obvious from Saturday that Puncheon was finished with us for at least the time being. With AL out at the moment and the disastrous Dickson experiment we obviously had to do something about the left side in the short term.Plus he may well give us more attacking options than we have already all across the front line. looking forward to his partnership with Morgan because they should be on roughly the same wavelength from the outset..

What is the disasterous Dickson experiment you speak of? I thought he was doing pretty well in the games ive seen him in.

Some interesting comments on the FoxesTalk forum: http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=70514

Seems he has the talent, but his application is called into question... but as Adkins has worked with him I'm sure he's confident he can get him firing.

Funny. Leicester fans are ambivalent about N'Guessen and on another thread saying Pucheon is exactly what they need. Swap?

Meh, not sure what to think.

No option to buy means we could have a similar situation to Anotinio if he turns out good.

Yes, but this...

just asked my Lincoln supporting mate about him ..

'When he’s good, he’s very good but when he can’t be arsed he’s a liability'

Could suggest that he'd be better on loan than he would on a permanent anyway.

Like the look of his youtube clip. Reminds me of Michail Antonio a bit, anyone know if he is more of a left or right winger as he seems to play on both sides.

A bit worried that it seemed to me that a lot of the clips showed him beating a player or two brilliantly then were cut before whatever happened next .....

ha ha ha, I've finally got one. Nice. This is the guy I suggested we sign two summers ago

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?15710-Tom-Craddock&highlight=danny+N%27guessen post #23

and post about on every single HCDAJFU thread. Excellent. The guy was terrific at Lincoln, a stand out player at league 2 level, and Leicester signed him for next to nothing as he was out of contract. He went up to Scunny on loan recently, did OK by all accounts. I said then there was a great chance we might bring him here. Adkins will have watched him shed loads, with Lincoln being just down the road. Great move for us. Now for Lee Cook...

I only came in to post:

Chez will be happy.

Looks good in the youtube video! looks very two footed, so can play on either wing and also like cutting inside! Could be a good signing, as cover and even to put pressure on the first team players!

In the good old days you wouldn't even get into the reception hall at Auxerre if you didn't have 2 good feet.

In that he'll prove influential, score some important goals and show massive improvement, but you'll still call him useless anyway?

No. In that he is a raw young powerful looking wide man. Just hope he can pass/cross..........

Your scapegoat then?? ;-)

Scapegoat is a bit strong :)

Seen Danny play quite a few games for Lincoln, i can concur with what has been said. Have seen him play a few excellent games but in other games when he doesn't seem to be too bothered he was not good. He definately has the ability to play at a higher level just needs some enthusiasium drumming into him.

As I work in Leicester I was just speaking with some LCFC season ticket holders. They are surprised that he's not playing for them this season. He's big, powerful, pretty quick and when his head is in the right place then he's a very good player. That will be the key thing here. Adkins will need to manage him carefully but this could be an inspired loan deal.

Seems a good Loan signing, big, strong and pacey. Will have a rapport with Spiderman too.

I'm pretty sure every Frenchman gets on well with every other Frenchman, simply on account of being French. David Ginola and Gerard Houllier get on famously, after all.

Cheers for the background. Just curious to see why he's been out on loan so much, particulary as it seems he was linked with some big clubs earlier in his career. Sounds like he'll be good at this level though

This is only his third loan spell, one when he was 18 at Rangers and a short Scuunthorpe loan prior to ours.

I thought I would post 19C comments as I also have a concern over this loan:

But what is really worrying is the apparent desire of the club to commit even a modest spending budget to buy experienced players or promising youngsters with the potential to keep their places in the Championship and therefore be more motivated than those on loan this season.

Like you said this individual has hardly had a progressive career - Auxerre to Lincoln City via Rangers is hardly inspiring and the main os have obviously hyped him up but my guess Adkins feels he can help him resurrect his career. Do we need a player like that or a manager who believes he can think like that when the no 1 objective for the next 14 weeks is promotion not player development?

Being a lot time fan I have this paranoia about things going wrong here: looking at that post last night on 606 now why have we only loaned someone with a pretty low pedigree let's be honest...why not splash out on a Pilkington/Pugh type?

Do we have ANY money to buy? Is it that the money has been put on hold? Yes I know we have Lallana, Guly signed but thats wages not a big signing on fee etc.

I am concerned....slightly ...told you paranoia.
