Colinjb Posted 8 February, 2011 Share Posted 8 February, 2011 Thank heavens Parry has gone. That time slot became a far better listen when Mike Saggers took his place alongside Mike Graham. Sceptical about having Gray and Keys on there though. The current affairs slant of the mid morning slot is a refreshing break from the non-stop discussion of the same issue on the shows either side of it. Lord Duckhunter Posted 9 February, 2011 Share Posted 9 February, 2011 I thought he was co-owner? He used to be station manager. It gets a bad press but it's a pretty decent station (better than 5dead anyday). I started listening way back when Lofty from Eastenders did the drivetime show. Wasn't so obsessed with expros in those days, people like Collymore and Cundy get on my tits.Over the years they've had some great shows, Mike Dickin RIP was fantastic, and I thought Brazil was great with Porky Parry. The Rodney Marsh interview with Bestie just before he died was one of the most moving bits of radio I've heard. I think it's a good move to get Keys and AG provided they dont try to be too controversial, Keys is a good presenter and Grey does know his stuff. Lets B Avenue Posted 9 February, 2011 Share Posted 9 February, 2011 Don't mention it to Gray and Keys, but the fragrent Ms Massey was back on the line at Chesterfield v Aldershot on Saturday. Chesterfield's 1st goal was a foul-throw and the silly girl wasn't even looking. Bless.

Nobody claims to read them, they get slagged all the time and yet they sell many more papers than anyone else. Talksport get slated on forums ect and yet they do pull in loads of listeners. Also they absoloutly hammered Keys and Gray for days upon day, but the whole station rips the pish out of Ian "moose" Abrahams, who actually talks alot of sense. Adrian Durham is the worst of the lot of them. Complete burke who contridicts himself week after week.

Gingeletiss Posted 12 February, 2011 Share Posted 12 February, 2011 It is alleged that Parry was fired/made redundant/resigned after allegedly making Nazi comments. Apparently not so. What I don't understand though, is that John Gaunt was fired for alledgedly making Nazi comments!, yet the station fell over itself, to employ two people, who made sexist comments. Were I JG, I'd be speaking to my Lawyer now.

I heard that john guant show where he later got fired... he said some bloke was a smoking nazi for now allowing people to take kids into care if they were smokers..or somthing like that. he also immediately apologised on air.. moon monkey Posted 12 February, 2011 Share Posted 12 February, 2011 It is becoming very clear that Talksport employ people who have caused controversy rather than broadcasting ability. Collymore, Marsh, Boyd, Gaunt, Graham, Cundy have all been in trouble at some point and they get employed at Talksport. Alot of them end up getting the sack from the station after a few years anyway.
