LostBoys Posted 30 January, 2011 Share Posted 30 January, 2011 (edited) today result probably makes things quite awkward for you doesn't it. A win or a draw and you could bemoan our extra game (s) and the impact on promotion chances and the risk of injuries, get "thumped" as you put it and you could complain about the impact on moral as according to you if that happened we would lose our next two games and you could also complain about the weakness of our squad. However an unlucky loss and a good performance is In many ways this is probably the worst result you could ask for,we played really well and matched if not better than Man U, unlucky to lose and came through it with no injuries. It shows we have a decent team and squad, and i for one am bloody proud of our performance today, it's diffcult to find a negative, although i am sure you will. I do not normally pick up Alpine's posts unless someone quotes him as they are usually worthless wind ups and so he is on my ignore list - I suggest you advise him to go away and slit his wrists quietly even if it makes a mess in the snow. I do not know what he will do if we actually win the league - probably just evaporate. Edited 30 January, 2011 by LostBoys forgot smilie

Turkish Posted 30 January, 2011 Share Posted 30 January, 2011 Au contraire, I am an extremely proud Saints fan this morning. Ferguson had to put his team back to full strength and take us serious early, and they needed ExtraTimeAtkinson's help as 12th man as well. I dont understand why for the life of me that you dont get that its possible to be 100% Saints and NOT share your opinions. You have some serious growing up to do, I think. The only question marks that arose for me yesterday were Adkins was a bit off with his substitutions and the bench appears weak. I had to read that twice then and nearly feel out of seat. no predictions on impeding doom? No citicisism of not holding onto a lead? Well done you. On paper you might say it appears weak, but we had 3 of our 4 strikers playing, usually we only have two with on on the bench, in our back 5 only Fonte is a regular starter. The only questions marks i have are over Gobern and Doble, the rest are decent enough and Jaidi was rested all together. Adkins has never thrown Doble on so clearly doesn't think he is up to it yet. Gobern is young and our 4th choice CM player, as i've said on other threads i dont know what sort of player people think will be a L1 one 4th choice midfield player but they wont be much better than Gobern. Not sure where COnnolly is as i thought he was fit but when Lallana and Hammond are back, which shouldn't be to long we are in good shape.

SaintRichmond Posted 30 January, 2011 Share Posted 30 January, 2011 Saturday is all but over and we're still 4th (with games in hand). Games in hand are OK, as long as A Teams above start to lose B You WIN your games in hand Bournemouth won yesterday, which was bad news for us Our games in hand are just "catch up" games now
Saints foreva Posted 30 January, 2011 Share Posted 30 January, 2011 I can't see anything other than two defeats against Exeter and Peterborough.

Turkish Posted 30 January, 2011 Share Posted 30 January, 2011 and he was being negative! Shall we start another thread Nick, out of the top six by next saturday. If we lose against Exeter and Peterborough and everyone else wins their games we might be out of the top 6 by this time next week FFS

We have 2 tough away games , while Bournemouth have 2 easier home games. Worst case scenario is that this time next week we could be 11 points of 2nd place , albeit with a couple of games in hand. We really do need to win at least one of our games and hope bournemouth slip up.
